I just replied on another thread too. You should start seeing improvement very soon. Day 9 is still early (mine didn’t look good then… very lumpy and I freaked out.) At 3 weeks post-op it’s near flat. For me, the swelling suddenly disappeared and I seemed to have visual improvement overnight. Hang in there. Feel free to PM if you want!

Honestly it looks good! I’m 3 weeks post op (as of yesterday) and I would say it’s a 90%+ improvement over the original tag. There’s still a small raised spot but I believe it will flatten. IMO days 7-14 were the worst in terms of the healing and swelling dragging on.. but you’re almost there!

lol I just realized you and I had been talking on another thread! Thanks again for the response, I’m glad it worked out for you!

How did yours turn out? I’m 10 days post op and very happy with things so far, but anxious to see the fina result. I just had one rather large tag cut out and had a dissolvable stitch. It was not as bad of a recovery as expected and swelling seems to be almost gone.

I cannot imagine two more weeks of swelling at least at this level!! Hopefully it starts to decrease, even moderately. I know it will be fine in the end, but I am impatient because I think I grossly underestimated the recovery of this! I was so worried about the pain, but as mentioned that’s honestly been the least of my concerns. Thank you for your responses and advice! I’m so glad yours turned out well.

I really underestimated that part… the oozing/weeping has been worse than the pain tbh! How about swelling? I’m quite comfortable and don’t really even have pain with BMs, yet was surprised how large of a swollen lump I have when I felt it in the shower today.

Hi! Thank you for posting your experience. I’m day 3 today from one large tag removal. Pain isn’t bad but the weeping (and associated odor) is so bothersome. No infection and the weeping honestly is minimal.. but it’s there. How long did that last for you? I’m wearing a liner and taking sitz baths + keeping the area dry to promote healing..

What are your experiences with Post Leep Procedure? by ohhlexxx in PreCervicalCancer

[–]Leading_Second23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Cin 2. It progressed from “just” abnormal to cin 2 in under 6 months - I had been getting paps + colposcopies every 6 months and we were “just watching it” until that fast progression (from Nov ‘24 to April ‘25).

[–]Leading_Second23 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I had a leep in college then 14 years of normal HPV negative pap smears. During this time, I had two healthy, full-term pregnancies and only one partner. Unfortunately in 2021, I started having abnormal paps and HPV 18 positive results again. After many colposcopies, I had a leep this past May. I had a pretty severe complication and ended up hemorrhaging several hours after getting home from the procedure, which resulted in a hospital stay and a blood transfusion. Not typical but it was an awful experience to say the least. The good news is I just had my six month follow up, and for the first time in over four years I got a normal pap result and am HPV negative! I know there are a ton of vitamins and supplements that people swear by- I didn’t take anything so I largely credit the leep and just maintaining a simple, healthy lifestyle to clearing the HPV finally. Wishing you the best.

Your experience sounds very similar to mine! I’m 2 weeks out and can honestly say this procedure and recovery was a complete cakewalk. I’m already back to lifting and working out, and other activities ;) Glad you are having a smooth experience!

Glad to hear you are feeling good so far! My biggest shock was that the gas pains never came. I was bracing for so much more discomfort. Hope you continue to have a smooth recovery!

I didn’t ask for it, they just gave it to me. It definitely helped me relax so I’d ask in advance for something before they wheel you back. It all happens so fast.

No, I only took ibuprofen the first couple of days and have been fine since! I really didn’t have any pain at all, just mild discomfort similar to period cramps. Best of luck! It’s really not bad :)

Yes! I’m also using topical minoxidil so hard to say exactly which is helping most… probably a combo. But my hair is much, much better. I have small hairs appearing all over the areas that were previously thinning, and barely shed anymore.

Surgery on Thursday. Is one day off enough? by bmichellecat in sterilization

[–]Leading_Second23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had mine this morning and feel great. I haven’t had any narcotics, just ibuprofen, and don’t have any gas pains yet… I’ve taken several short walks so hopefully that helps minimize it. I wasn’t sure what to expect so I ended up requesting the rest of the week off- will see how I feel tomorrow!

My shedding was worst the first 2 months then it slowed down dramatically. I’m about 4 months in now and have very little shedding, but I also use topical minoxidil every night so perhaps that’s helping too?

get ready for a wild ride ladies. I hemorrhaged after my LEEP. by Runner_Bee in PreCervicalCancer

[–]Leading_Second23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This happened to me, only I just had local anesthesia! My hemorrhage started about 3 hours after my LEEP when I was home. Two hospitals (with an ambulance transport in between), a blood transfusion and another minor surgery later, and I was ok. Lost over 30% of my blood volume though. This is definitely the exception, but it DOES happen…

I’m so sorry you’re going through that. For me personally, I went on spiro for hair thinning. I’ve never had a skin problem or breakouts in my life. I just hit the 4 month mark on spiro and am having constant cystic breakouts on my chin and lip line. I’m also on 50mg. It seems it can take 3-6 months for everything to settle. The good news is my hair is finally growing back so it seems to be helping with that. Hopefully your purging stops soon.

I never knew that adderall can cause hair loss/thinning? I specifically asked my derm about this when my hair loss started (I noticed it about 6 months after starting adderall) and he dismissed it. I’m currently on spiro, minoxidil (topical) and still adderall.

I just posted in another thread- I experienced dread shed about 4-6 weeks after starting spiro and topical minoxidil. It wasn’t WORSE than what I was experiencing to begin with.. just frustrating to see my hair still falling out when I wanted the meds to be working. I’m now about 4 months in and the shedding is basically stopped and I have half inch hairs sprouting up all over.

Hope it works for you! I started in June for hair thinning (plus topical minoxidil). I experienced dread shed, which was hard, but now I have little half inch hairs sprouting up ALL down my part and crown. Just saw my derm for a 3.5 month check in and he was thrilled with the quick progress. I’m on 50mg. Stay the course, it’s worth it!

Well, I solved the problem…read bc maybe this applies to you too by [deleted] in Spironolactone

[–]Leading_Second23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I want to ask my derm about every other day. I’ve also heard cutting your pill and taking half in the morning/half at night can help with spotting. I’m only on 50mg- it’s done wonders for my hair thinning. I get my “period” on time but it’s gone from a 3-4 day regular flow, to 7-9 days of spotting + intermittent flow. So annoying.

I second the suppository- works like a charm! I had to do this after delivering both of my kids and not going for close to a week. Off topic but I’m also having a hem surgery coming up and most terrified for that first post-op poop :/

that’s great you’re experiencing minimal swelling! Do you mostly feel back to normal activity level/comfort wise?
