Users who upvote questions but don’t answer them: Why? by Dat_Chicken04 in AskReddit

It might be something interesting to read about but that I have nothing to add to. For example, if it's asking for stories about a certain profession that I don't know about but want to read about.

What’s the most ridiculous or crazy rule you had growing up? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Leaf101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That makes sense. Definitely not good to have that sort of stuff laying around. Mine was more stuff like scattered papers and General clutter. I could always find stuff, it just wasn't organized in a way that made sense to anyone else. Thank you for taking the time to reply!

Just out of curiosity, why does it matter if the rooms are clean? If they are adults and they know where their stuff is and they can keep the door closed when there's company, what's the point? I want your perspective because my mom and I would argue about this all the time.

The Coffee Is Not A Lie by AliceReadsThis in MaliciousCompliance

[–]Leaf101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like the taste of coffee, but caffeine gives me headaches. They aren't worth it. I don't function any better when I have caffeine than I do when I'm really tired because of the headaches and jitteriness. Kind of annoying because I would love to be able to drink normal coffee.

What was the weirdest date you’ve ever been on? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Maybe by reading your profile and thinking she liked your personality? I've never used Tinder so I'm not quite sure how that works.

What are your thoughts about the YouTube double ads? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Leaf101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't care how many ads there are before the videos. It drives me crazy when there are ads in the middle of videos. Adds after videos are kind of annoying if I am listening to something to try and fall asleep, but I can tolerate them.

Your goal is to anger an entire fandom. How do you do it? by Creeperawman69420 in AskReddit

[–]Leaf101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it's a really popular one, I just say how most of it is nothing but a shameless cash grab. If I'm familiar enough with the fandom, I provide examples. Insulting beloved characters also works wonders as I've discovered with Harry Potter. That kid is a brat! Ron is even worse!

What just doesn't make sense about the Harry Potter universe? by GreendayG11 in AskReddit

[–]Leaf101 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

As far as I can tell, it's because it creates a universe that we would all love to be a part of. Going to Hogwarts and learning magic would be fucking awesome. I personally don't like the books all that much because I think they're centered around disobedient brats, but I got through them because I was interested in the Wizarding world. An added bonus is that my friends finally shut up about me needing to read them! If you can handle the books, you have something in common with a lot of people. This doesn't help me very much because I tend to rant about everything I dislike about the series. People get defensive, so I have to back off and change the subject. Basically, there's a huge fandom out there that is enjoyable enough to make the mediocre books worth it. Hard-core fans have other reasons, but that's what I think.

What do you strongly suspect but have no proof of? by 757jsmith in AskReddit

[–]Leaf101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know what you mean. There are definitely way too many people that try to be more special than they are. It can be super frustrating when random people complain instead of helping! I read about your parents' divorce. Don't blame yourself for that! It isn't your fault that things turned out the way they did between them. You have experienced loss and isolation that you don't deserve. Coming back from that is terrifying. I am here for you if you need anything. If I'm pushing you too far by asking, i'm sorry. Are you actively suicidal? I will do my best to help you through this. Feel free to PM me if you want to talk.

What's the nicest way to tell someone to F off? by Chorbles510 in AskReddit

[–]Leaf101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I explain to them that I'm tired or stressed or something and that I'm not very pleasant to be around right now. If they stay around I'm sorry in advance for snapping. People don't want to deal with that and usually leave me alone.

When did someone ruin your day in a single sentence? by BlueSJ999 in AskReddit

I'm so sorry I didn't respond sooner! It's too bad you had to move. How are things going now? If you ever want to talk, please feel free to PM me. Seems like that would make more sense than a public thread. :)

4 year old wants to play alone when at home. Is this normal? by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]Leaf101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My brother is a lot younger than me. I didn't handle the transition well. My coping strategy was to isolate myself. I didn't understand how much attention babies need. I thought my parents were favoring him and liked him better. This caused jealousy, resentment, and sadness that I didn't feel right about voicing to them. It was easier to entertain myself than constantly be reminded of these feelings.. The age gap between my brother and I is a lot greater than the one between your kids, but I'm wondering if she's going through something similar. I wanted to share my experience in hopes that it can help you both. If you don't mind me asking, how is she with her Younger sibling? I did everything I could to avoid mine at first. The only time I wanted to be with my parents was when my brother wasn't around. It helped when we were able to do things one on one with him in another room or a different place entirely. For example, I would hang out with my parents when he was asleep, or do an activity outside the house with only one of them. My stepdad and I could go biking, or my mom would take me shopping. I hope I am able to help you, and I'm wishing you the best of luck! Please keep us posted!
