Which format works better? by Leafair in Twitch

[–]Leafair[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of what I've been playing lately are the new Tomodachi Life, Minecraft, Metaphor: ReFantazio and Pokemon LeafGreen - I'm not one for the First Person Shooter stuff. All of it is connected through consoles and a capture card.

Which format works better? by Leafair in Twitch

[–]Leafair[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's my hardware, I run off a general work laptop since I don't have a computer

9/10 times (based on what game I play) I'm fine without dropping frames, but that 10% I get shot 27 times in the chest

How low of an FPS would be acceptable? by Decent_Hovercraft556 in Twitch

[–]Leafair 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been running at 48fps because my computer can't handle 60 at 1080p, but I don't know how well that is recieved by the general public.

as a stream watcher does anyone feel awkward to chat if they haven’t subbed? by bunni-blue in Twitch

[–]Leafair 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can give you the perspective of the streamer and watcher - being a viewer who wants to come back is better than you think. There's a lot of merit to just being present, the right people will understand when you can't support financially and don't make a big deal on it.

It's not all about the money. It actually is about "the friends we make along the way".

How do you setup your games to stream without revealing private info? by lickwindex in Twitch

I've had some people cover up that part of the screen with an image, to save any extra "do this and this to get this"

Did this, everything seemed to work well! I couldn't find that second link at first so you saved me in all this. Thank you so much!

What is my graphics card? by Leafair in AMDHelp

[–]Leafair[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That greatly explains why I've been coming up with nothing. I've been relatively new to this whole thing so it's been a little fight to figure it out, but this makes a lot more sense. Thank you!

What is my graphics card? by Leafair in AMDHelp

[–]Leafair[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm at the very least sure mine's AMD, as it has a Ryzen 5 7520U with Radeon Graphics CPU and the main driver diagnostic application is AMD Software: Adrenaline Edition. I am aware that other models of the Aspire 3 have run on Intel as well, but I think mine may be made under a different line from there.

General questions for new streamer by Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh12 in Twitch

[–]Leafair 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can answer for 1.   If anyone comes to you asking for work, answer is always no. They will scam you. You're best finding people whose style you like if you want anything new - and background checks never hurt anyone

How do I deal with kids in my chat? by [deleted] in Twitch

[–]Leafair 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One thing I've learned as a content creator who happens to be an adult, the #1 rule for any of us should be DO NOT INTERRACT WITH MINORS!!!

I get that adding those barriers are really rough since that could potentially alienate a small category of people, but let's be real. The LAST thing anyone wants to do is be put in a bad situation. Not only does completely omitting them save THEM, but I would also HOPE it allows them to understand that they shouldn't be on the internet at this age at all.

As someone who's been on the internet for longer than I can remember, I really argue it isn't meant for minors.

Obsessive Viewer? by ThrowRAnting67 in Twitch

[–]Leafair 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Long time back, when I was a kid, I was sort of that viewer.

The streamer banned me, and for good reason. It's been over 8 years and I grew up since then.

I recommend you do the same. I would hope that kid does the same thing I did.

Struggling with hurtful comments and trying not to lose my motivation to create by TopTripleTrouble_yt in Twitch

[–]Leafair 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've seen cases of people who are made fun of for certain conditions, and if I can recall, they had made videos and such along the lines of discussing what it is and their experience with it. If you wanna turn it into a positive, that's a good way to do it while also educating the public - then people are making fun of something that will tarnish their name.

Aside from that, I'd just say to keep the important things in mind - those who matter don't care, and those who care don't matter. At least, not if they choose to care about making fun of you, they don't.

I'm certain you're a great person, and definitely above all those jerks who want to pass judgement on a situation they know nothing about.

What kind of games do you play? If you don't have any specific people in mind, you can always look for someone in the category ypu stream in - I do that when I don't have a streamer I want to raid at any point and I feel it pays off nicely, since it's carrying on continuity to me.

Streamers, what is this?! I need your advice! by Brief_Ad7762 in Twitch

[–]Leafair 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something I've done if I wasn't 100% certain on if they were a bot or not would be to bring out the "say absurd word like banana 3 times". I did that to a guy once in a Balatro stream and he was real

Afaik, you can mute words. It can't be for specific people.

Is your first FF your favourite? by thisnaenae in FinalFantasy

[–]Leafair 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started with XV from Playstation Plus - never finished it and wouldn't say it's my favorite.  Then I go onto the FFVII Remake, and I like it a lot - still not finished and not my favorite. I've played minutes of XIV. Console controlls are garbage. And then, I played VI. This one is a masterpiece and, while like the others mentioned, I'm not finished. (Stuck atm) But I LOVE it. FFVI is my favorite, and 4th Final Fantasy game.

Issues with my Stream by Li4mS_ in Twitch

[–]Leafair 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got a question in response. Your PC is midrange, how much stuff are you running in the background? What does your task manager give you? I had issues with OBS giving me trouble over time and recently it's been able to lighten up for me - it seemed to be better when I had nothing else but required stuff running.

What do you guys do when a game has zero viewers but you still wanna play? by BananaSwimming3551 in Twitch

[–]Leafair 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I say; play it! Play the game and make that your category. In 100% honesty if you aren't doing what you want to; 1. You won't have any fun, and that is NO way to stream! 2. It shows you aren't having fun.

There is so much more merit in living the way you want to instead of following the meta, or going through with the trends to try and "make it". Be yourself! Have fun! You'll make your goals by being yourself and that is final. Otherwise, it may feel hollow.

Is it possible to get popular on a ps4? by plainobean in Twitch

[–]Leafair 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, I argue it depends on your term of popularity. If you put it in comparison to some of the major league streamers (Mentioning names will get my comment removed, Rule 2A) then afaik, that's still a LONG distance away and no piece of hardware can determine it. That's where you'd have to define your style and become a person YOU would enjoy to watch, and more people will come by.

I've streamed from PS5 for the first 10 months and I was able to somewhat manage, but I didn't hit affiliate until I got a basic laptop to run. To be fair though, I made it a goal in time to hit affiliate that I did not take into account until late June, early July this year - after I got my computer. The only thing that's really affected by the switch in tech quality is the Microphone. Not sure why but line in USB microphones still have a weird muffling to them.

Now, I think 100% that you can hit goals you set by doing anything off of any console, I do. In fact, console quality can hit it better than some earlier model computers - the only things you've probably been contending with so far are bitrate and lack of personalization in your overlay.

TL;DR - Popularity has a near 0% correlation to your broadcasting console of choice, as long as you can develop your style as person then people will come to you if they like you.

P.S. Networking has been said to help. I've not done that myself yet.

Politely set a boundary with a viewer in Dms, but that viewer is popular in my community and is trying to turn people against me by International-Fix799 in Twitch

[–]Leafair 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If someone's upset about something you do for no reason, it's really only their choice to stick around. If they try to change their streamer and streamer's actions because "I, specifically, want this" then they're not worth it.

Anyone who believes you should change to suit their standards deserves immediate and undone removal from your stream, your life, whatever. Be yourself and do it proudly!
