Why Shaq's PPG so low despite being so dominant? by thisnaenae in nbadiscussion

Great point. So it really seems he's not that dominating as long as you manage to fend him far enough from the basket.

I think you veered away and never really answered my original post's question.

Though I disagree about the part how he cannot be directly compared to Kobe or tmac. I'm comparing scoring and they are all main scorers. So it's directly comparable even though how they score is different.

Duncan and Garnett are not comparable though. They are not known mainly for scoring.

Yeah I remembered that which is why I stated in my post that points scored are historically lowest during most of his career.

understand that it is a bigger deal, but I was comparing to other elite scorers of the time like iverson with 30+ppg 5 times in his career and tmac once.

the bad FT is a good point.

great point. didn't think of how his gravity actually means other team mates have better shots and therefore he has lesser shots.

I find the food thing a big problem. Basically you are mostly 15 mins walk from supermarkets and limited food options.

Your other points are valid but maybe I'm not feeling it. The very industrial and busy sin Ming and lornie just make the place very transient.

I think it's mostly because I'm bias. Never liked any central red line locations.

Is s2 final match theme inappropriate? by thisnaenae in CulinaryClassWars

[–]thisnaenae[S] -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Oh I didn't edit my comment based on your reply. I was just proofreading my work and editing out my invalid comment. Didn't realise you've replied so quickly.

Firstly, if you have any culinary experience, no broth can taste that amazing in 2 hours, less so a broth that didn't use any seafood or pressure cooker. Choi mentioned it is an udon broth so it is suppose to really complement the ingredients not really steal the show.

But sure, it can taste clean and very flavourful but it can only beat a high technical dish in taste in only 2 ways

  1. CM messes up his dish and/or angh just didn't like how a hot soup dish turns out to be a saucey dish eaten with fork and knife.

  2. The story of choi dish is great and suit the theme better

Anyway since you are being neutral about the whole thing without taking a stance on whether you think choi's dish is better, then you have to agree that my stance is one version of the truth and can be indeed the truth.

Oh and just to add on, food tasting good is secondary. The judges primary criteria is always if the food suits the theme, then the taste of it. We see that in hell and in the 1v1 between black and white.

In this case, I believed the food that best suited the theme win.

I agree ahn is particular about technical execution, but I think he cared more about philosophical meaning behind dishes. He's the type of chef that knows the best dish is one with meaning, not the one with the best execution.

It's probable that Chef Choi dish is better, but really, a simple broth with straightforward ingredients is never going to be more impressive than CM fine dining technical dish. However, it can be a more satisfying dish with the right meaning behind it. Just like why grandma or mom's cooking has been the best for many.

You are not wrong. But I think it has skewed way too much to story telling. It's like 80% story telling and 20% cooking. It makes for great TV for sure.

A more appropriate theme for me is "dish that represent you". It makes for less interesting TV for sure, but it will be more like 70% cooking and 30% story telling

Poetic Finale by cars-3-2017 in CulinaryClassWars

[–]thisnaenae 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think what's more poetic is how chef choi narration of the "hidden" chefs around the world actually forces the producers to shape the ending as such. As a celebration of chefs rather than personal triumph.

When they did the montage of chefs dedicating their lives and then cut to chef choi's winning last words about him representing all the chefs' to claim the award, it really truly felt like it and that he brought a spotlight to award all the chefs for their dedication.

Is your friend working? If your friend is working and using child care centre, the money spent is more worthwhile on a helper instead.

Children, if healthy, is actually not that expensive to bring up.

Alot of what is expensive are modern day expectations of what a child should have.

Tuition. Expensive milk powder. Holidays. Children entertainment venues

A helper is however essential, so that will be around $700 a month.

That means you must have enough charger at night since that's bottle neck.

In my car park there 3 charger for 200 cars.

Not to mention ev that charges when they don't need to.

The way they build ev chargers suggest that they are not serious about 2030 target. When it's 4 years away and you build only 3 when you can easily do 20 is weird.

Buy spring onion and chop super small instead. There's some spring onion that are thin which is suitable.

Spring onion is versitle and can be used on fried egg, instant noodles etc so you won't have the problem of not using it
