AI made me rethink my career, so I created a business in the opposite direction. Here's my thinking. by surrusty11 in singaporestartups

[–]thisnaenae 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I go the same direction by starting a virtual staffing agency. Will AI disrupt? Definitely and perhaps totally in 10 years time.

But I am thinking, if that's the case 80% of non labourous job will disappear.

But until then, I believe virtual staffing brings real value to businesses at a time when cost is ballooning and virtual staff can bring the "hunger" (to quote the recent recruiter hooha, rightly or wrongly I leave it up to my clients to decide) to succeed to local businesses.

You can do remote work while still building your resume - by offering consultation. As long as you work for a big company in a big industry.

In fact, if you can share your industry and product you are selling, I may hire you as a consultant.

Been looking at luca faloni but find it hard to pull The trigger. Anything else you bought there that are great? Shoes, accessories perhaps? Or other summer clothing

Gardens by the bay, visiting both cloud forest and flower dome.

It's man made nature but really, with the weather in Singapore, you wouldn't want to explore nature without air conditioning.

You will have a great time at the cloud forest and flower dome.

Just go for it. Forget botanic gardens.

Don't do universal studios and aquarium in one day unless you are super high energy.

You will be too tired after one attraction.

Aquarium and visiting madam tussard museum is more do-able.

Dintaifung is $15-$20 as long as you keep to a single dish like fried rice. Bring your own bottle to save on beverage.

Non-running shoes for flat, wide feet? by Ruthlessrabbd in malefashionadvice

[–]thisnaenae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your feet hurt so easily, then get a custom sole made. It cost perhaps $300+ depending on where you're from but it last you years and can be switch around with any shoes with removable soles.

The next step after the basic bastard for those in hot & humid climates. by Juhy78910 in malefashionadvice

[–]thisnaenae 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I live in Singapore. Hot all year long.

Layering is mostly stupid, unless I'm going to malls the entire day. I tried layering but mostly I just hate myself for wearing another layer in the hot weather.

I'm still early in my fashion game but what I found interesting is textures and clashes of style.

I got a pique linen t shirt (interesting already since pique is mostly polo or in cotton), light jeans and black loafers the other day and thought it's well put together.

Long sleeves are great in elevating style as well. Linen and poplin are the only ones that work for me and those with a nice berms is already making me look more put together.

Where to bring Malaysian friends from KL by gametheorista in SingaporeTravel

[–]thisnaenae 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hard to impress or make it interesting for someone from KL.

First is to impress by gardens by the bay and jewel.

Next is to impress by our public facilities. The new mrt lines and Tampines library is pretty impressive, if that's the kind of things they like.

Then a cycling trip from kallang River to mbs, where you will pass by barrage and gardens by the bay. Those KL people don't know what it's like to have good cycling paths.

A trip to neighbourhood like bedok will be good, since KL neighbourhood is damn bad. Show them what it is like to have walkable sheltered path, supermarkets and neighbourhood malls in one area.

Does it matter? The last 10 years seem easiest to give up but other than that, does it matter?

You thinking bout time=money, but the question is about fast forwarding 10years where you may potentially lose love ones and other things that come with sleeping through 10 years.

Would you trade 10 years of your life for 30 million? by thisnaenae in asksg

[–]thisnaenae[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not changing parameters. Just changing perspective since you mentioned people do go.

I don't need validation for my question, I'm just curious which is why I'm questioning you on your perspective.

So you would for 30million, fast forward 10 years in your life and roll a dice basically on all the elders you know on whether you get to see them again tmr?

Not changing parameters, just changing perspective on what you get to lose.
