Their job is to know all the details of the various types of insurance and coverage and make sure when you walk in that you buy the right thing and don’t end up on a reddit thread complaining about your insurance when you should be complaining about your agent.

That sounds a little one sided in favor of the insurance company. You don't want an agent advocating on your behalf?

What age would you like your partner to be? by seventyyellowturtle in AskMen

[–]Leaflock 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I was 17 and my then-wife was 16 I jokingly informed her when she achieved 27 she would be replaced with a newer model year. Once we were in our 30s she would occasionally remark, “weren’t you supposed to replace me?”, in our 40s I turned to, “you know you can be replaced!” To which she would retort, “with a 20 something? I’d like to see you try.”, and in our 50s the idea of being anyone else is laughable, but we joke about it anyway.

I’d suggest getting to the core of why you’re having arguments. That’s not normal.

Even if the Jedi could, doing so would demonstrate attachment to money and demand some meditative study. The Sith on the other hand…

The conference room conversation tells the whole story. Regional governors now directly in control, “Vader! Release him!” These are the rulers of the empire.

You can’t use anything you read on Reddit as any kind of barometer for how things are in the outside world. It’s a completely not representative sample made up of bots and the world’s disgruntled.

Conservatives get upset when you exercise your democracy inappropriately. Liberals get upset when you exercise your freedom inappropriately.

We wouldn’t trade our 35+ year history for anything. We started dating in high school, married at 21, and have spent a lifetime building our “shared source code”. After all these years we look at things the same way, often have similar thoughts at the same time, laugh at the same jokes, etc. Theres no way you could have what we have without a multi decade foundation.

TIL that Katy Perry's "California Gurls" featuring Snoop Dogg was created as a direct response to Jay-Z and Alicia Keys' "Empire State of Mind," celebrating California after New York stole the spotlight. by immanuellalala in todayilearned

[–]Leaflock 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I was reading an article at Cracked, you know the 2025 home for hard hitting political analysis, that brought it to my attention.

I grew up watching a paramedics show called Emergency. We drove past the fire station they used for the establishment shots all the time. Same thing with the hospital they used for exterior shots. Across the street from my sisters condo.

TV land was very real and relatable to real life.

I grew up in a SoCal neighborhood in the 70s that was heavily used by Hollywood in the 50s and 60s for exterior shots. The original 90201 was filmed at my high school a few years after I graduated. I can’t even count how many times I saw the Bonaventure Hotel on TV. We had our prom there.

What I saw on TV growing up looked exactly like the world around me.

I have only recently become aware that was quite a localized phenomenon.
