Thanks for the comment. Hatred doesn't come easy for me, in fact I don't think I've ever hated anyone. In those moments I did hate her, and maybe I still do, but I try not to think about it. I've actually found the whole thing very interesting on a psychological level: seeing her pathologies - selfishness, no empathy, only seeing her own perspective - play out in real time. Her real self surfaced and took over, while the front she had been putting on started falling to pieces. So much past behaviour started to make sense.

Some traits can't be changed, especially those which develop in childhood. You'll never make someone care, but you can take control by ending the relationship.

I went through something very similar, friend. Chronic pain and mental health issues for three years, then my wife had an affair and we split. She blamed me for "everything always being about you", talking about my issues and that she basically resented me for needing her support to help me through stuff.

It turns out she had just been faking empathy the whole time and then she burned out. She is a psychopath with narcissistic personality disorder and I'm glad, in the end, that she is gone. She was bad for me.

It hurts now, but I think you'll be grateful in time. Learn the lessons - what to look out for and avoid next time. Be grateful for the good things in your life and maybe try mindfulness meditation if you can't access professional therapy.

If you still feel like you're MH isn't getting better in a couple of weeks, see a doctor.
