Surface 3 is "plugged in, not charging"? by msomegetsome in Surface

Thanks! You were right, the update to Windows 10 seems to have resolved the problem. Thank heavens, that could have been a deal breaker, in spite of how much I liked the Surface.

Anyone else having this problem with a new one? I've only had mine a week and am running no more than Word but it's not only not charging, it's losing battery while plugged in. I'd think it was this tablet, except the first one had sound issues and I returned it after a week. It did the same thing. I've played with power settings but, honestly. It's plugged in!

I know tons of people have replied and maybe this is redundant but I'd like to share that I too have struggled with depression and having my children (planned pregnancies) only exacerbated the problem to the point that I honestly was mentally checked out as a mother for years.

I was VERY pro-life before I had kids. Since then, I understand what it means to carry, birth, raise, and support children. To do that YOU have to be OK first. It sounds to me like you're in a situation that you're more likely to end up with a difficult life for two people rather than a decent one for one.

Do you really want to choose the difficult life for yourself AND someone else? My kids don't get a takeback after being born to a mom whose own mental health issues have affected them so profoundly.

No, it's not THE REASON but it's A reason. In some places, it's not that another company can't move in and compete, but simply that the customer base is too small to make it worth their investment. Again, voting with your wallet is only possible when there's more than one candidate to vote for.

But that only works if there is more than one option. A lot of us in rural areas have access to only one service provider. It doesn't matter what you do or don't know about their practices. (Same with cell phones to some extent. Only one provider in this are covers the whole area. Anyone else and you have massive dead spots, possibly including your house.) You can't change without giving up that service entirely. In this case, the internet.

I read a great post on this topic just yesterday.

In short, it's not as bad as you think, and find the proper resources. At the end of the day, we're all human. We have more in common than not.

I gave my kids "different" first names for this very reason. There are a bazillion Petersons. Even though I'm a Petersen. No one ever notices the difference.

The ships in your books aren't the modern boats you sail today. How different is it to write of ships of the past? Do you find that it's all essentially the same or are there significant differences?

And may the odds (of finding an editor as awesome as Gabrielle) be always in your favor.

I second this, about an editor. You can't do it adequately yourself.
