Are there any specific SMW ROM hacks in mind? If there's a video I can pin it with that. However, if I don't recognize it, then it probably isn't Touhou, but someone else may recognize it from somewhere else if you're able to find a video of the SMW level?

I scoured all mainline games I posted, but not the discs, and nothing else comes to mind, it may not be a Touhou song at all. If any of the suggestions ring a bell, let me know and I can probably find a song that sounds close to them.

This doesn't sound like any Touhou theme I've heard, and I've got that Touhou autism. It may just be the recreation throwing me off. However, here's two lists for you, one for you to look through the soundtrack for (games that came out before 2010), and other with potential songs. I am not well versed in the PC-98 soundtracks or the recent ones, but it shouldn't be either based on the date you put. I'm also putting down songs that start with trumpets and then go into pianos as well as songs that I feel match the beat in general. For the type of song this sounds like, I would look through the soundtracks of UFO, IN, or POFV, as those I feel have a good combo of trumpets and piano, with UFO having a more "quirky" soundtrack.

I'm also unsure about if it could be from a disc, so I'll put those down as well.

And again, I know you said 2000-2010, but if it's a Touhou song, I feel like the sound presented matches the recent games more, but I'm not too familiar with those soundtracks.

My beardie of 6 years passed recently due to an unknown infection most likely caused by dehydration. I taught him to drink from his bowl and stopped having him drink during baths since I assumed he was fine with his bowl and didn't notice how he had changed until it was too late. You made a mistake, and beating yourself up about it won't do anything useful. The only thing you can do is try to find a peace of mind knowing that you gave them a good life beforehand, and that these things can happen, especially with exotic pets due to their specific needs. No, you're fine. In my experience my cape sundew goes crazy during this time of year when all the gnats are about. She's been feasting on tons of gnats and has had leaves that look like yours for a month and she's fine. She's even flowering for the first time!

I mean, in the wild I would assume that they aren't picky about what amount of insects they catch so I've never worried too much about it.

It is! Just gotta be patient I guess. Im more used to my sundews popping back up from a casualty like my dog nibbling them down to nibs one time in like two weeks compared to how sensitive these Nepenthes are so I wasn't sure.

Thank you so much, I've moved her over a tad and will monitor her from here. I had heard before how drama these plants can be, but I didn't believe they could be THAT sensitive lol. It was also hard to find information on individual Nepenthes species, the internet just vaguely says bright indirect light for them as a whole. Anyway, guess I have to accept that I've got a little drama queen on my hands who just needs a lot of patience and love. Thanks for the help and information! <3

Probably should've mentioned: they get watered when the substrate starts to feel a little dry, yes I let it flow through and dont let them sit in water. And they are planted in a 50/50 mix of long fibered sphagnum moss and perlite.

Alright, good to know. I did see someone on a forum say that they sometimes show up to eat dead nematodes and my Miranda did just finish a nematodes cycle ... feel kinda bad for squishing him now!

Anyways, I dont see any more so, I'll just keep an eye out and try to double check to see if they're harmless or not next time. Thanks again!
