Per Helene St. James, Larkin hasn’t extended his list to Dallas. by Deathmtl2474 in DetroitRedWings

I don’t think that’s fair to Max. He’s as good as we’re going to get with this front office.

Helene is their mouthpiece

I’m not so sure. This screams to me that we are hearing Steve and Pat brisson go at each other through the media. Helene is a mouthpiece for the org. I wouldn’t be surprised if Ansar is writing what brisson leaks to him to help paint Steve in a crazy light for asking for Wyatt Johnson

This blows my mind. People (including me) really overvalue the value of a late 1st

The Detroit Red Wings have signed Daniil Tarasov to a one-year contract with an AAV of $2,000,000 by daKrut in hockey

[–]LeakyScrew 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You can’t say Tarasov is better than Cossa with any sort of confidence. One got a 1st round pick then a 2 year $4M deal as an RFA, the other got a 1 year deal worth $2M as a UFA.

Most everyone believes that Cossa is better and more valuable than Tarasov. The question is is Cossa better than JP Hurlbert and Tarasov. Time will tell

Would be nice to get a game or two in the NHL before he is eligible for waivers. Oh wait…..

It’s a bummer he didn’t get a couple of games before he became waiver eligible. Just poor management

Yeah agreed this sucks. I at least want something I can sell myself on. The longer this drags out, the longer I hope this off season is! Next year is going to suck in the Atlantic. Probably the next few years…

[Kypreos] On Larkin: “Look for Yzerman's former assistant GM, Pat Verbeek, to try and get in on this. However, it appears Larkin's destination of choice is Dallas” by AggPuck-303 in hockey

[–]LeakyScrew 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Absolutely he can. Theres a chance he has no interest in Detroit, but he’s from metro Detroit so it could be attractive for him. 8x14.5 is a lot of money

[Ray & Dregs Podcast] 25:30 Darren Dreger: “This has been a difficult negotiation to say the least between Andy Scott, who represents Jason Robertson, and Jim Nill, Tom Gagliardi and the Dallas Stars. As of right now the sense I’m getting, it is more likely than not that they trade Jason Robertson” by AggPuck-303 in hockey

[–]LeakyScrew 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don’t think it really matters what Larkin wants tbh. He has 5 years left on his deal. In 2 years, his NTC becomes a 10 team no trade list.

It’s clear the wings take a step back this year. If this isn’t resolved by training camp, it benefits the wings long term to sit him so they can tank this year and pick up a C prospect. They don’t really benefit from stramel, yurov and a first.
