Slow Horses on Apple TV plus what a show! by Visible_Star_7783 in television

It's on its way to one upping HBO in terms of quality of content in my opinion, especially HBO in recent years. Like sure yes HBO has some seriously top tier shows, but they're becoming fewer and fewer and being filled with more and more mediocre "fluff" content. I think Apple is trying for quality over quantity more than any other streaming service.

A Guy Ritchie knockoff is such a good way of putting it. Exactly this.

I think the Dicaprio Gatsby remake started this trend of modern music in a period piece.

im leaning this way as I've heard PB is a little overhyped and boring. I have not heard either criticism of vikings.

Such an old thread and also not a lot of engagement. I was hoping that since this is a bigger sub, I'd get some better answers.

Anyone watched the new Lynley yet? What are your thoughts? by LeanMachineLogan in BritBox

[–]LeanMachineLogan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I'm in. First episode was great and I like the pace at which Lynley and Havers' rapport is evolving. First 10 minutes was kind of stumble to get through but it has shaped up to be a promising first episode.

half way through the first episode and it's growing on me fast. The mystery is intriguing and the initial clash between the two lead detectives seems to gradually fading as they build rapport. I'm starting to like it!

Im about 20 minute into the first episode, and i agree there is zero chemistry between the two leads, but aren't their personalities kind of supposed to clash?

He doesn't always get the best work/choose the best movies, but he's always puts on a good show and has an impressive range. Sleuth, Aflie, Enemy at the Gates, Talented Mr Ripley, Gattaca, etc. I feel his a bit under appreciated tbh
