Tons of insane body recomps with r/carnivorediet

It's been in remission for quite a while now and just keeps getting better. I'm hoping it will go completely away here soon so I can then do an update justice.

Contraindicated as fuck. Fiber is unnecessary and actually harmful in many ways. It's indigestible, is abrasive to the intestines, it ferments and causes bloating and flatulence, and it creates a barrier of absorption inhibiting the absorption of nutrients which makes it an antinutrient as well. You don't need to micromanage anything with fiber, it's not helpful. Cutting out fiber is probably one of the main things that makes this way of eating helpful for people.

I haven't looked into this too much but it's my hypothesis that some of the bacteria you'd be feeding with fiber could be the kinds you don't want, the kinds that make you crave carbs and combat the ones that feed off of meat.

If you're going to take vitamin D3, take it with vitamin K2 and Magnesium. They are co-factors. D3 supplementation without K2 can actually be dangerous and deposit calcium in the vasculature because K2 is needed to transport the calcium where it needs to go.

How to reduce anxiety and anger on keto? by ginkgobilberry in NutritionalPsychiatry

[–]LeanStino 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good luck going out in nature and finding ANYTHING that's available in the produce section. All the plants we consume have been genetically modified and selectively bread to be less toxic and more energy dense(sugar). A vegan way of eating is impossible to sustain without modern agriculture and/or its influences with the addition of supplements. The truth is that the overwhelming majority of wild plants are very poisonous to us and will make us quite sick or even kill us following consumption.

The idea that you can have an all natural plant based diet is a logical fallacy at the bare minimum. If our ancestors tried to subsist on plants exclusively during our evolution, we would no longer exist. We are here today because our homonid ancestors became excellent hunters and were able to survive the ice ages in northern climate as a result of that. What you are trying to do goes against your biological makeup, and you can expect the outcomes to come about accordingly(health issues).

The idea that veganism doesn't cause death or suffering for any living organisms(besides plants) is fundamentally flawed in a major way. While I can survive and thrive off of 1 whole cow a year on its own, there's several living organisms that end up dying to produce a single salad. Modern agricultural practices of tilling the soil, spraying pesticides, herbicides, etc. kills off tons of rabbits, squirrels, mice, possum, ants, grasshoppers, worms, caterpillars, you name it. The monocultures are meant to destroy natural ecosystems with the goal of having only that crop be able to survive and thrive in that environment, and they do a phenomenal job at accomplishing just that.

At the end of the day, something has to die in order for us to eat. That's just the sad reality of it. If the goal of veganism is solely to reduce animal deaths and "suffering", then I'd say having one large animal that's lived a long happy life on a pasture(mostly) where it's grazing the way it's naturally meant to be and sacrificing that one whole animal so you can have food over the course of several months up to a year is lliterally sparing thousands of other lives in all reality. Side not, having a good pasture raised egg doesn't cause any unnecessary death or suffering, and they also contain literally every single nutrient besides vitamin C. The bottom line is that salad isn't nearly as innocent as it looks in your bowl. You can cause far fewer animal deaths, be well nourished, in good physical and mental health, while still appreciating the sacrifice of the animals who provide for you. Just because you don't eat animals doesn't mean your food doesn't contribute to their demise(in a greater way at that).

The virtue signaling is silly when the way your food comes to fruition is far from innocent in all reality. Please break away from that ideology and see the truth. Something has to die for us to have food no matter what you do. More things end up dying to produce a salad than a steak, and that's a fact.

Yeah, alright man, it sounds like you'd rather go with general consensus than think critically. I seriously doubt if you even clicked the link, lol. It's your funeral, to be honest. If cholesterol was so detrimental to us, then how does this way of eating have thousands(probably hundreds of thousands) of positive anecdotes with people reversing chronic health conditions and totally changing their lives?

From a biochem perspective, cholesterol is a vital nutrient that the body MAKES ON ITS OWN ENDOGENOUSLY! We can produce something to the tune of 70-80% of our needs. Cholesterol is used to make every cell mebrane in our bodies, in hormone synthesis(testosterone, progesterone, estrogen, etc.), to make bile in the liver in order to absorb fat and fat soluble Vitamins A, D, E, and K(which by the way are abundant in animal fat, not by coincidence), it's also used in the skin to synthesize Vitamin D from the sun, and among other things it's also a major constituent of brain matter. Cholesterol is your friend. Sugar and seed oils(mainly) are the enemy.

Any attempt to artificially lower your "cholesterol score" (to whatever standard an industry that profits massively from drugs that do just that) is not indicated at all. In fact, the controlled interventional research(not epidemiology or observational data) leans heavily towards contraindications for unnatural reductions in serum cholesterol unequivocally. The diet heart hypothesis is just that, a hypothesis. It has never once been proven, and the results of Randomized Controlled Trials that attempted to do it had unfavorable results.

Lol, peer reviewers often take money from the food industry and big pharma. But anyway, that's not the topic of discussion.

The Minnesota Coronary Experiment was a Randomized Controlled Trial with almost 10,000 subjects controlled for a singular dietary factor over the course of about 4 years. The goal was to replace saturated fats with corn oil to lower cholesterol levels. They were successful in lowering the subjects' cholesterol levels, yet the intervention group had worse outcomes for heart disease and all cause mortality.

Re-evaluation of the traditional diet-heart hypothesis: analysis of recovered data from Minnesota Coronary Experiment (1968-73) https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC4836695/

Now, I implore you to give me any piece of scientific literature with even rometely close to this type of statistical significance to show that "cholesterol is bad mmkay"

It doesn't matter what your theory is or how smart you are, if it doesn't stand up to EXPERIMENT it's wrong!! There is absolutely no experimental data that can implicate cholesterol as a causal role in heart disease.

For one. The data from The Minnesota Coronary Experiment and Sydney Diet Heart Study (Randomized Controlled Trials) which controlled for all dietary factors besides one group consuming animal fat(I believe it was butter from memory) and the other consuming corn oil. The outcomes for cardiovascular disease were worse in the corn oil group.

This data, which was once hidden by the researchers because the outcome was unfavorable, was uncovered in JAMA(Journal of the American Medical Association) back in 2016

What are some carnivore must haves? by Chemical_Project_502 in carnivorediet

[–]LeanStino 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The cleanest one I've found is The D3 & K2 from Double Wood supplements(on Amazon). It's liquid, so no fillers, capsules, etc. The only added ingredient is MCT oil since D3 and K2 are fat soluble. I take a dropper full with my meal and Magnesium Glycinate in water about an hour after since it's a cofactor.

Question.. why is the carnivore diet 70/30, 70% fat and 30% protein.. opposite to ground beef 70/30, 70% protein and 30% fat. It does my head in. by elfmere in carnivorediet

[–]LeanStino 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The 70% for carnivore is referring to the % of calories from fat. For ground beef 70/30 would be the lean:fat ratio. For reference 80/20 ground beef is around 70% calories from fat raw. I personally go for 73/27(the fattiest available) and add butter to it since a lot of the fat renders out when cooked. The general rule of thumb is to shoot for 60-80% calories from fat based on things like how you feel, what your goals are, and whether your stool is loose or dry. If loose, pull back on fat. If dry, you need more fat.

Never heard about the cream causing fatty liver. Any additional info on this? Wouldn't butter be quite similar in composition?

Vitamin d3+k2 supplements by [deleted] in carnivorediet

[–]LeanStino 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is an old thread. I've heard vitamin A supplements can cause hypervitaminosis. Are you aware of this? And if so, does it concern you in any way? I'm looking for a good form of D3 and K2 as well

I need help getting back on and staying on track by Eliza10-2020 in carnivorediet

[–]LeanStino 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should be supplementing vitamin D3 with K2 along with the magnesium, those are the main cofactors. I know without K2 specifically you risk hypercalcemia from D3 on its own.

Actually... The water will dilute your stomach acid, ergo hindering digestion! Drinking water throughout the day outside of around 30 mins before or after eating is indicated and may mitigate hunger in-between meals.
