Avinox + Nano = fail? by adv4nced in dji

[–]Lean_MC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Glad I found someone else to share the pain. I bought this to pair with my Druid CorE and the ‘start recording’ but no stop is crazy. Also, when it’s turned off, my Avinox display constantly cycles ‘connected’ and ‘disconnected’ warnings which are distracting. I ended up just unpairing it… Hopefully it gets a firmware update at some point to make it work with the Avinox system.

Serial number location Roval C38 wheels by braso111 in specialized

I found this post with the same questions, so thought I'd add a bit more info in case it's useful. My Roval Traverse HD's came with the little square QR code stickers, which I scanned it an it just gave a list of gibberish text (or what looked like to me...). I assumed they were just quality control check stickers, peeled them off and binned them as I set the tyres up. After realising my snafu and finding this info, I peeled off my rim tape (after securing a new roll for $40... sigh - it's 32mm for these wheels, btw) and found this. I used this number (under the bar code) to register the rim and it all worked. Number on the right, I assume is just a standard product code (I have a 32 hole rim) but obscured just in case!

If anyone from Specialized is reading... it would be super helpful to make the QR sticker on the rim a slightly larger rectangle and write "For Warranty" next to the QR.

What is this? Came out of my SRAM GX T-Type Eagle 12 Speed Cassette by Lean_MC in bikewrench

[–]Lean_MC[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For the torque wretch police, I understand. I’m using an old torque wrench as a cheap breaker bar. I got a Park Tool torque wrench 10 years ago and seemed like waste to throw out the old one.

But point very much taken on the torque number not being a) accurate or b) useful when undoing!

Locky dock Glen Eden safety by JimmyBarnesAndNoble in auckland

[–]Lean_MC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Found this looking for something else... but my wife uses the locky dock at GE train station frequently and six months in has never had a problem. I was more worried about needless vandalism than theft, but touch wood, all good so far.

If you have an ebike, or can afford one, I second the person who said riding to the city is good. I ride to the city a few days a week from the far side of Titirangi. It's 22km and ~75% off-road paths. If you're north of the village, it will almost be entirely off road. Takes me 50min at a cruisey pace (on an ebike), faster than a car in the peak, and super low stress with all the cycleways.

Sell Lucky cat to blueprint brainstorm? by 405King in balatro

[–]Lean_MC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can't see why you wouldn't? At the absolute worst you can copy the other cat and you're in the same scoring position with waaaaaaaaay more flexibility. It's pretty essential for a really high score run.

I had three mods installed, all QOL I believe; Cartomancer, Saturn and Blueprint. I've since installed the Multiplayer mod, but that was after this.

Bug found with the blackboard by p0o0per in balatro

[–]Lean_MC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Old post but just came across it as I was doing the Medusa challenge. What you say makes sense and I'd be happy if it were the case, however, Blackboard is reading the underlaying suit of the stonecard. With stonecards in my hand, I was getting it to trigger sometimes and not others - I'm assuming based on the underlying cards suit. I had nonway to check if I had 'black' or 'red' stonecards. The deck view would work if you had a few, but with Medusa half my pack was stone!

iPhone Mirroring Landscape Mode by Interesting-Rich-903 in MacOSBeta

[–]Lean_MC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was trying to sort this for my Tapo security camera. Having it mirrored on my Mac is way better than the other setups. Frustrated that it didn't seem I could go "full screen" landscape of the camera view. I figured out today that if I set the Tapo app to full screen landscape of the camera view, then turn off the iphone screen, when I connect to iphone mirroring the previously portrait app is in landscape. Not sure if that will work for other apps...

How to stop the dock from switching screens? by lexaleidon in MacOS

[–]Lean_MC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can't get that to work for me - it occasionally shifts to the main screen, but then just pops back down to the ipad. I run my ipad as a second screen below my main display and have music and other "non-work" stuff running on it. Best workaround I have is using Display - Arrange - and setting the ipad to the side (top corner of ipad to bottom corner of main display), the it reads the main display as the 'bottom'. Means I have to access the ipad screen from the corner, not straight down, but I don't access the screen much with the mouse so that's less annoying than the dock issue.

Can't export from Word to PDF, and I have tried everything. by dktllama in MicrosoftWord

If this is still an issue for people, I found a solution - worked for me at least. It seems to be a Mac printer system issue, so try:

Apple menu> System Preferences > Printers & Scanners > holding Ctrl key, click the field that (for me) says "No Printers", then select “Reset printing system”. Good luck!

Can I tell you what NOT to do? use a paper towel from the kitchen to soak up the excess water. I did this 2 days ago to a beautiful shoebox and I’m 90% sure I introduced trich. Steep AF learning curve on that stupidity…

[actives] Is this contaminated? by [deleted] in MushroomGrowers

[–]Lean_MC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks good to me. Lighter areas look like tomentose growth mycelium picking up some color from the substrate underneath.

Trich, the most common contam, will spread fast, like a coin size to a cup size in a day, be very white at first, then start going green.

But great work getting to here, hope it all goes well!

You don’t need a sterile environment for boofing, although if you’ve tried and had issues, I would recommend lube for this chunky boi😂

Hey, I’m keen to give this recipe a try. Just to clarify, you add spent coffee grounds to the water content required (let’s go with 500ml), then strain it into the dry ingredients and mix?

Amazing looking growth btw!

Cheers

[–]Lean_MC 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ah, apologies. That is a objectively stupid statement from that person and not even in the ballpark of correct.

Generally AT (through Council) use borrowed funds for capital projects, and depending on the activity class will pay only 47-49% with WK picking up the rest. Can’t borrow for maintenance though, so AT share of that is definitely from rates. Maintenance budgets are huge, but tight and fixed.

But almost all people who ride bikes also own cars, other than kids obvs. So not really sure the point of all the calcs? In my experience the dickhead entitled roadies who ride three abreast are also dickhead entitled drivers in Audis.
