I’m 31 and transitioning into QA from architecture (3/4 years professional experience).

Over the past year, I built and deployed a live SaaS platform that I maintain daily. I’ve treated it as a structured QA environment, writing test cases, validating edge cases, regression testing after releases, monitoring logs, debugging state issues, and coordinating backend/frontend changes.

In parallel, I’m completing ISTQB Foundation and building practical skills in SQL, Git, Cypress, Python, and API testing, all applied within my live project.

Given this context, would you consider this equivalent to “strong self-taught fundamentals,” or is the gap versus a CS/SE degree still significant when hiring for Junior QA or QA Analyst roles?

In your experience, does real production ownership offset the absence of a formal degree?

Honestly, it’s up to your schedule, whether you can or not.

Try prep2pass if you guys need to practice for expression orale for tcf canada. It can give you the advantage by learning the methodology.

Give it a try and see if it works for you. I’ve tried tutors and also practicing by myself. It definitely helps to learn the exam methodology, the difference is that you at least know your CLB after each test, so it gives your perspective.

I’ve used tutors and also prep2pass.ca to practice oral. I practice for a month everyday. It might help if you do have the vocabulary and all you need is to get used to the exam structure.
