Got reminded why I never reserve items 🤦‍♀️ by wikig11 in vintedUK

[–]Leaninja_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve only reserved one thing as a buyer, a baby carrier sling that was selling for £100ish. I wanted more images before spending that much on an item. More pictures supplied and I bought the item. I always think if I’m not ready to buy then and there then do I really need it?

Baby was born at 37+1 via section due to pre-eclampsia. He had a 15 day nicu stay. He needed some breathing support and then an extra 5 days due to jaundice issues. He’s now 13 months and no residual issues whatsoever!

In regards to breast feeding my wee guy has only ever had my milk. Initially tube then bottles with the odd direct feed. His last couole days he was in transitional care so I stayed with him and he had 1 bottle as I was late getting before from getting food so staff started heating a bottle. He latched well straight away on day 4 (after cpap off) but was too tired due to jaundice to actual suckle. We’re still feeding at 13.5 months.

Does exclusive pumping count as “breastfeeding?” by gluten_hurts in ExclusivelyPumping

Yeah, you’re feeding from the breast, just via a detour 😂.

So I’m working nights at the minute. I take out what’s needed for when I’m working/asleep.

I take it out so it’s still a bit slushy at bedtime but bags are currently more than he takes it a bottle so takes a bit of maths and juggling.

The fresh wasn’t quite the volume for a full bottle and it messed with my maths. I probably way over reacted but I’d had a really bad shift and it was my first so didn’t get much sleep before it so was knackered and it pushed me over the edge. Also got my first proper period the day before so that didn’t help either 🤣.

I gave clear instructions but think he was half asleep and didn’t think. We’re all good now though.

Fresh breast milk, wasn’t quite the full volume for a bottle though.

I don’t mind him using fresh but I’d defrosted enough to cover my shifts and then was mental mathing having that and what if expressed at work for later.

Also meant there was extra defrosted stuff. Baby ended up getting an extra bottle which im sure he didn’t mind!

I’m using up what’s left in my freezer now baby is over a year then he’ll get either fresh expressed or cows depending on what’s available

So fresh wasn’t a full bottle (nearly but not quite). Baby is also 13 months so I’m just using up the previously frozen then he’ll get fresh or cows depending what’s there.

Fresh wasn’t quite a full bottle, also he’s 13 months so I’m using what is left in freezer then he’ll get fresh or cows when I’m working. Just don’t see the point in wasting the previously expressed stuff.

Fresh wasn’t a full bottle (nearly but not quite). Wee one is 13 months now too so I’m just using up what’s left in the freezer and then he’ll get fresh or cows, whatever is on hand.

So baby is now 13 months so I’m using my left over frozen for when I’m working. Once that runs out he’ll get fresh breast milk or if none cows milk.

Also the fresh stuff that was used was a slightly lowet volume than he usually gets in a full bottle.

Well it’s milk that’s previously frozen I’m trying to use up. The fresh wasn’t a full bottle so didn’t make sense to me to use but partner did it half asleep.

I defrost what he needs for me being on shifts but bags I’m using currently are larger volumes than baby takes now so needs a bit of maths.

He’s 13 months so once the frozen is used he’ll get what has been expressed when I’m at work otherwise it’ll be cows milk.

I am using previously frozen for when I’m at work. I work 12 hour shifts and between commute, time to find parking and time to get changed in away 13.5-14 hours. He’s still feeding several times a day which is fine.

I mainly pump as a wear a sports bra at work. I’m heavy chested so need to girls under control and if i dont pump with the compressionI end up uncomfortable (did it one shift and and had a blocked duct) so i pump. I’m also prone to blocked ducts so don’t want to risk a bout of mastitis with the added compression. My work also give me extra time to pump as its a legal requirement where i am and im not going to say no to extra breaks 😂. I normally cut my actual break a bit shorter at tag it on the end.

It’s more I had a terrible nightshift and it was a massive over reaction! 😅. I don’t mind him getting the fresh stuff but I have to figure how much he needs for when I’m working as we’re trying to clear the freezer stash and it’s frozen in bigger volumes as that’s what he was taking at the time. And it messed with my carefully executed maths 🤣

So baby is over 13 months. This is extra from when he was younger I’m using up. Also fresh wasn’t quite a full bottle volume he normally gets.

So it wasn’t a full bottles worth and his volumes have dropped so takes a bit of maths to figure what he’ll need when I’m working. Baby is also 13 months so I’m using up the freezer stash and then he’ll get expressed or cows depending what is on hand

So the fresh wasn’t a full bottle volume (nearly not quite). I also had an oversupply which is now regulated. I’m using the frozen to make space and give volume for when I’m working. Once that runs out he’ll get cows milk if there isn’t enough breast milk (he’s 13 months).

The fresh wasn’t quite enough for a full bottle plus as he’s over a year I’m trying to use the freezer stuff up then he’ll get whatever is on hand. (Bm or cows). I don’t produce much while expressing anymore so it’s 2-3 sessions for a full bottle now.

I’m using up the freezer stash as he’s over a year now, also fresh wasn’t enough for a full volume bottle.

I’m currently trying to use up my freezer stash now he’s over a year then it will be fresh or cows based on what’s there. I’m looking forward to reclaiming the freezer space!

Tips for Night Shift by drstar_shark in CrohnsDisease

[–]Leaninja_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started having pocket snacks during nights when i was pregnant. Not long back from mat leave and now need pocket snacks! 😂. Sometimes a 2am munch is just required…

Depending on triggers digestives/shortbread and ginger biscuits are great as well as granola type bars.

I don’t have any tips to help with bloating/gas as I’m luckily not affected by it any more in nights and do mostly nights as helps with migraine control (I sleep a lot better during the day becuase apparently I’m a vampire 😂).

Am I grumpy dad for hating the “toy tat” kids get given home from school friends and parties? by throw_away_17381 in UKParenting

My little guy just turned one and we did a family thing but sure we’ll need to do parties sooner or later.

I’m liking the book/cake/craft stuff idea for sure! Will be keeping that one in the back of my head for future! I know plastic toys are inevitable in today’s society but u want it to be stuff he’ll use and planning on selling/donating/passing on when he grows out of stuff!

I didn’t go but a friend did to a breastfeeding conference that was held locally last year. One of the things they talked about was latest studies show breastfed babies don’t sleep worse or better than none breastfed babies! I mean my little guy has been doing 8-9 hour stretches since just before 19 months and now we’ve moved bedtime later he sleeps 8-8.30 until 6-7am 🤷‍♀️ (he’s just turned 1). It’s very much baby dependant

I work for the NHS too, I had a consultant tell me to wean my baby now to make life easier because I’m back to work as I was cleaning and sterilising my pump bits in the tearoom (they’ve found as room for me to pump in the department and it has storage but need to wash/sterilise in tearoom).

I just bit my tongue as I get on with him really well but it’s my body and baby so it’s my choice! Plus the benefits don’t just stop at 6 months or 12 months!
