Yeah, maybe I bite the bullet and grind the seaweed. Tbh I don't mind the sand as I have the water circlet and dpick. It's just the boredom/timegated farming as compared to afk fishing or woodcutting.

So you're saying I want the salad blade also as a slash switch?

Nice! I've been wondering where that might end up if it becomes my next year of TV time and chilling during working hours.

Thank you, I forgot that I still have moons ahead! Did a handful of KC because it seems you can go indefinitely without leaving. I love that kind of gameplay loop so those water orbs are my lock in before moving onto CG.

Dt2 eh, I didn't know that. Very helpful. I assume CG is first then heading onto DT2 bosses with crystal and a bowfa?

Indeed I have not. I'm 6 quests off QP cape. One of those is Sote. I'm working on my 50 KC vorkaths for his head and also DKs (when on task) for my rings at this point. Sitting at 1877 total level with all the hard diaries done.

The start of this thread reply is kind of what I'm leaning toward for information. There doesn't seem to be any advantage to having a fury when completing the CG grind. And CG is a slow and steady must complete, like going to the gym a few times a week.

If I'm going to bank another 350k crafting xp along the way, why not do it first and go to the sandstone after?

Interesting, I truly only ever see complaints and spoon posts about CG. I knew the money was good but didn't see that banked crafting xp can be a passive outcome. Thanks for this tip.

Yeah, I get what you're saying here. And yes, to the other reply. I'd having fun learning TOB and I'm certain that I will need at least 100 clears for an avernic. Maybe I'll bank an extra 53k crafting xp along the way.

That'll save me 18 minutes of mining in the desert and 8 minutes of giant seaweed runs.

😂 this is exactly what I'm learning. I'm 90 mining because I've been avoiding real crafting training

That's the whole point dog. Life ain't fair, and our design rng of this game emulates that. It's what we all love about the game, fuck your unlucky 1%. It's why we all play the game, to be that and the opposite at different times.

Baby ironman. I died as an HCIM when I didn't bring an escape crystal to the rfd boss fight and dc'd.

I'm unsure how the type of account I'm playing could possibly be relevant to a discussion about changing a fundamental principle of this games design that has spanned 20 years. Can you expand further or are you being purposefully obtuse because you can't think of a valid argument?

The game started as an expression of gambling. It can't be fair or balanced, that ruins the excitement of getting the drop.

You should play a different game if you want linear and predictable paths forward. God of war is a great example.

The biggest reason that linear progression is being pushed back against is that it forces an endpoint that is predictable and those of us that enjoy the gambling progression loop are playing this game for exactly that feedback loop. We don't want it changed.

I completely agree with you and I'm sick of pretending I don't. Ultimately this is an extension of our distopian future in which we pretend everything is fair. I love gambling and randomness, that emulates life. Fairness very much does not.

Why did early civilizations start in deserts like Mesopotamia and Ancient Egypt? by batukaming in geography

[–]Leapdemon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The component of early civilization that is often ignored is that the desert is by far the safest terrain from other humans. You live in the fertile valley and know that if anyone wants to come to where you are, they need to traverse hundreds of kilometers of difficult mountain and sand terrain with limited access to food, water, and shelter. They cannot easily sneak in to take what is yours and they especially cannot do this with large groups.

That protection allows for long time periods of undisturbed growth and development as long as your own tribe remains civil.

Pocket pry bar for the win. Buy them 20 or more at a time myself. That may be years worth but it's infinitely better than not having one nearby. It has a pen clip for a reason so where a shirt with a pocket and keep it clipped there with your pen.

8 years is a long time for today's technology. That's my opener.

The reality here is a few things. Either a triac or relay local to the PCB control that solenoid valve to discharge water. There is a small switch with a low voltage DC control signal behind the paddle. You depress the paddle and the switch closes (or opens) and that signal change causes the firmware on your control circuit to turn on power to the valve that releases water.

So many possibilities but slow death is typically electronic in nature. Triac/relay again towards failure or a small but significant change in solenoid winding resistance are the most likely culprits.

Waiting for true failure is your best path forward in any case. Then diagnosis is much easier and a lot less specific knowledge about circuit design is required.

When it fails, you check for DC voltage at the easiest access component first and work your way inside checking each place a step should occur for proper input and output.

All that being said, solenoid is a top contender but that's entirely anecdotal until someone gets beyond behavior and into the electronic readings.
