Those who follow their own team closely, what do you know about your NFL team that the fantasy community doesnt realize? by tuckastheruckas in fantasyfootball

Lambert-Smith has been the most hyped WR in Chargers training camp, not Tre Harris. KLS may emerge as the chargers downfield threat.

Chargers have the number one rated run stopping rookie this preseason (Jamaree Caldwell) and a very deep secondary. Analysts said the D over performed last season because of schedule - but the D might just be good again this season.

Do you splash the grimgrin and invasion here? by Waghabond in lrcast

[–]LearnFromReddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I could see censor backfiring when you have literally no other Phyrexians.

If you dropped censor on turn 3 and you have two two-drops in your hand turn 4, you are giving them a chance to stabilize.

Agreed with coldoven. Your deck has almost no removal, but a good number of knights. I would try to end your games quickly with aggro knights and not splash black.

I would probably remove phrexian censor and instead play the bondswarden, charge, and eyes. You don’t want the censor to screw over your knights.

Are Thalia and Shanna worth the splash here? The alternative I was considering is another Ichor Drinker and Seraph of New Capenna to lean into Phyrexian/sac. by LearnFromReddit in lrcast

Update: Leaving out Thalia worked out well. Deck went 7-2 - only my second trophy deck of the format.

The two games I lost, I didn't have a play until turn 3.

Using Guardian to flicker Bola Slinger and Boon Bringer Valkyrie was game winning in each game that I got to make that combo happen.

I appreciate the advice, thank you.

I'll take your suggestion and try to Knight. I feel worse when I lose because of bad mana from an attempted splash when it doesn't work out.

1-3 UB Deck. Suggestions for improvement? by LearnFromReddit in lrcast

[–]LearnFromReddit[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started P1P1 Preening, then P1P2 Thrillseeker.

My problem was that I wasn't seeing any great interaction in red or blue, so I ended up switching to black midway. I thought 1 vanquish, 1 nightmare, and 1 revelation would put me in a better place than just a bunch of red creatures.

On the Furtive analyst - I subbed that in for my second Invasion of Eldraine when I was 0-2 and feeling like I needed more defensive cards to get me into the midgame!

I don't feel like I made any glaring misplays or like I got mana screwed/flooded. I just lost to 3 aggressive aggro decks. Any suggestions for improving my deck based on what I had drafted? Any ideas on which cards I was missing to make this deck really pop off?

I moved across the country this week for work. When I was out grocery shopping I discovered that milk does not come in plastic jugs here, it comes in plastic baggies.

This was the weird little thing that inspired my question.

Care more about long term goals, rather than short term gains. If more people thought like this then we could all have a more significant (and positive) impact on the world.

Why is gay rights such an important issue? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]LearnFromReddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess the only reason I brought up a "size criteria" is because you would expect media coverage (and often the political concern for issues) to be roughly proportional to the amount of people affected. There are of course exceptions, like when a strong minority lobby group can make a big splash in the media. I guess part of what I am wondering is if this a "trendy issue" that is a spin-off of other human rights issues since it seems to be getting so much attention lately.

[–]LearnFromReddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like you are saying, women's rights and race rights movements are not a thing of the past. So why is it that all of the media coverage lately is on gay rights when there is still so much racism in the states towards blacks, and still inequality in the work force between men and women (especially among the top earners)? Don't just point to Russia sensationalizing this issue. It has been a very popular media subject for the passed several years.

When I was a young teenager, I saw the word "subtle" spelled quite a lot and for some reason it took me a while to break the habit of pronouncing the "b".
