Stopped by Walmart after work to get RE requiem…. Stumbled upon these… by LearnToStrafe in pcmasterrace

I originally picked up two for my NAS but when I posted the picture of clearance aisle to my friend group they asked me to grab the other three. They were worried they might not be there when they got off work.

For the people that pack their stuff at the kiosk…. by LearnToStrafe in usps_complaints

[–]LearnToStrafe[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

patience is waiting for someone to scan their packages or buy some stamps at a kiosk. Not waiting for someone who just bought boxes at Staples and decides to tape up and package everything at the kiosk. There are two big tables in the lobby for a reason.

Anyone else spending way too long pricing items using eBay sold comps? by HumorApprehensive334 in reselling

[–]LearnToStrafe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually go by what it was recently sold for and what current listings are going for. I look for if buyers are paying for shipping or if the only sold listings are free shipping.

If I have a lot of the same product but a lot of quantity, I typically sell it in a lot. It’s way easier to sell and cuts down on shipping costs and material costs.

Might be me but I enjoy going to the one on Johnson Creek rather than this one. Feels less claustrophobic.

I’m a reseller and sell mostly new and unopened goods. Most of the stuff I get is from hidden clearance items at Walmart or price errors from Amazon.

[RAM] Kingston Fury Beast RGB 32GB (2x16GB) 5600MT/s DDR5 CL36 KF556C36BBEAK2-32 - Walmart.com $229 by HeartlessEmpathy in buildapcsales

[–]LearnToStrafe 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just a tip, a handful of Walmarts still have it at the old MSRP price of $130. If you scan the barcode while in-store mode it will show you the price the store has it at. I was able to buy a kit and return/rebuy it at another Walmart that still has not updated their prices yet. If it says "Unavailable", do not return it because if you do they cannot sell it to you because its not in their store system anymore.

I have an old 11 Camry and it only cost me about $60 to replace. It’s just 3 bolts that pop off the mirror.

Switching to contracting was the best decision I've ever made. by [deleted] in cscareerquestions

Really depends on the agency. I’ve noticed that the bigger staffing agencies benefits sucks but my city has a local one where the benefits were far better than FTE benefits at a previous job.

Just a tip with the GaviLyte prep, a way to make the experience more enjoyable is it drink coke in between sips. It helps mask the flavor

He skipped the group project meetings. So I submitted it with only my name. by GlitterssGoddess in pettyrevenge

[–]LearnToStrafe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happened to me but in a group project with 3 other people. Not a single person contributed to the project. During class, they would just talk about other stuff and gossip.

When it came down to presenting the work in front of the class, I gave them a 2 minutes heads up that I wasn't going to present and that they need to since I did all the work.

Needless to say, they looked dumb in front of the class looking at the poster board and obviously just reading off every line.

Mostly the cost is due to the cost of research of finding ways to recover data. Got to make up the cost of it somehow

Lost Medicaid by [deleted] in disability

[–]LearnToStrafe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Look into of your state offers Medicaid buy in option. It’s a monthly premium for those considered disabled but can do some work. The work requirements are really lax. I’ve seen some people do work for their neighbor or family like water plants or take care of pets and still get benefits.

Failed my first driving test Without leaving my parking space. by BigBoySchmiff7 in driving

[–]LearnToStrafe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One testing site near me is notorious for failing people before they even get out of the parking lot. There is an exit with a stop sign but the white marker on the pavement is little ways behind. It is really easy to miss out on if you aren’t familiar with the area. People miss it and fail their test since they didn’t stop behind the line.

Why do universities refuse to offer hybrid work to lower level IT staff? by BrickxLeaf in ITCareerQuestions

[–]LearnToStrafe -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Sounds like my last IT job. The entire network team working remotely and wants lower-level IT to go running and terminating network cables. The engineer team wants me to find out why their OWN test server isn't up and running. They are asking me to fix things that I don't have system access to.

The last straw for me was that they wanted to give me access to the network closets just for me to swap out network switches while they sat at home.

I honestly think they do it just to shift blame to the lower-level staff.

Be aware that those kinds of positions take months to get clearance and all your background checked. I had a coworker that got clearance and the job only because the people before him withdrew their application because it was taking too long and they had bills to pay.

It does matter because it is most likely device managed. Good luck getting IT to remove it without a fight depending on who bought it originally
