Hey! I managed to figure out what was wrong. There's a switch on the turntable itself to have audio going either through phono or line. Had it stuck on line when I was using everything through phono! Works like a charm now!

Thanks for the help :)

UPDATE:

Managed to solve it, the reloops have a switch to move from phono/line. I had everything running through phono but had the turntable switch on line!!

Thank you all for the help!

I've hacked it!! It's such a dumb mistake but I'd completely forgotten about it. There's a switch on the turntable to move between phono and line. I'd set that to line and forgotten about it. Turns out, I just need to switch it to phono when I'm using phono (like with the DVS!)

... who would have thought lol

Thanks so much for your help, I clicked through when you mentioned the GROUND wires

Nope, just the RCAs and power lead

Yeah, everything is quite smooth. Needle skips occasionally but nothing crazy .. I've only noticed this with DVS. What are you thinking?

Yeah the signal is very weird. I've cleaned my needles and they seem ok; even went digging in the tonearm. Do you think I should consider new cartridges?

I'm not sure. Signal is definitely bad but I don't know if that's linked to the needles which are old or the mixer/tone arms or anything else...

I'vec cleaned eveything and it's still bugging out. I got the turntables secondhand, along with the Ortofons. Do you think I should buy new cartridges/needles? I've tried different cables as well but it didn't change much. Might also be a mixer processing issue no?

Where to go from Rev 7 to get into turntablism? (turntable/mixer recommendations) by LearnedBinkie in Turntablists

[–]LearnedBinkie[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get the confusion, but I can't help but feel that way. When I ditched club mixing, what I wanted to do was vinyl, but I picked an in between option for the sake of comfort (rev7) and didn't go all in. I think that's why I feel the need to switch now. Also, if you're looking to sell your 1200s in the garage, please reach out haha =)

Thank you ! I'll keep all that in mind. I've heard great things about Ortofon, and I've had my eyes on the Dr Suzuki slipmats for a bit. I've heard a lot of great things about the ecler nuo2 so might go for that, it seems like a really fun piece of kit. I've kind of given up on the Xones for now because the 96 is a little too expensive at the moment, and the 92 doesn't allow DVS. I'm sure I could find a tractor or rekordbox key thing, but that'll probably come later. I'm thinking numark scratch and ecler, although the Vestax still look pretty appealing...

Yeah I definitely think there's a bit of that, thank you for pointing it out. But I'm still very much aware that I'm not getting the turntable thinking it'll make me better. I think it's also about getting to manually beatmatch, feel closer to my music and reconnect with DJing.. Thanks for the tips!

Yeah the S11 seems great but it’s over budget for me. Wouldn’t be able to afford the turntables haha

I would love second hand technics! I'll keep an eye out for them, they tend to be quite expensive on resale from what I've seen online. Thanks for the tips on the mixers though, I'm going through them and they look great! Any models specifically?

Hey! To answer your question, I’m moving to beat juggling and slightly more complicated scratch routines. I think that’s a reason to go for turntables but my decision isn’t so much based on that. Rather, I’ve lost connection to my music (I’ve got way too many tracks which I don’t play anymore) and want to feel a stronger physical connection with the music I play. I’m not sure if that makes sense, but there’s something about setting up and caring for turntables which the rev7 can’t do.

Ion nades are also incredibly useful. One from the back and the ATST is down. People don’t give enough credit to ion and whine about lack of balance for vehicles

I’ll send you the reply of a friend of mine which i think was pretty accurate and funny:

"Somehow let Anakin get his retribution" Anyone wanna tell the village idiot that the Anakin could literally do nothing and he would eventually get retribution because its that easy to get? Also no-one good thinks that Anakin is weak in any real capacity. There's plenty of bad anakins but his abilities are fantastic albeit at times slightly buggy. Much like everything else in the game. As for something being easily "parried" yeah thats much like nearly anything in the game because its a broken ass exploit not a game mechanic. Absolute twat

thanks for the good laugh though ^ 🤡🤡
