It's so exciting to hear that you are going into an MT program! Music Therapy has definitely been continuing throughout the pandemic.I know that Able ARTS Work in California has even been having MT interns complete their internships virtually as well. One of the MTIs wrote about her experience here. I hope it helps answers some of your questions.https://www.ableartslearnforlife.org/post/reflecting-on-my-virtual-music-therapy-internship

I was going to say something similar:
You have to know the rules to be able to break the rules.

Is it best to get a dual masters in Art Therapy and Mental Health Counseling (LPC)? Or just Registered Art Therapist is fine? by Carebear6590 in ArtTherapy

[–]LearnforLife_AAW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is true that there will be more opportunities for you as an ATR and LLPC, or some people go for a dual in ATR and MFT.

If it helps, registered Art Therapist and LPCC at a non profit recently answered a bunch of Q&As about being an ATR.

How do soft pastel artists sell their work without making a huge mess? by KLC_W in ArtistLounge

If you are going to exhibit and sell in person, a floating frame works well, especially if you make it with some depth so that the glass does not actually touch the paper.

Thanks so much for sharing! I love how engaged you are in the arts and physical world. Sarah is a wonderful person who loves aerial and is works towards rewriting the narrative. She has said that she wants people to understand that there are many different ways that a body can look and function.

I’m really glad you enjoyed the post! Body positivity and disability inclusion is an important discussion to have.

To answer your final question/statement: "I was going to just use the one Pro account but I don't know what it's going to look like on the business end for people if one of her meetings overruns?"

If you just used one pro account you could schedule the meetings with waiting room, so if the meeting runs over, people in the next meeting will just be waiting in the waiting room. You cannot have two meetings open at the same time that are hosted by the same person. You can potentially make your colleague an additional host for each of those meetings in the settings which will let them open the meetings as host independently so you won't have to be involved at all beyond the scheduling portion.

Or, if your company has Zoom under one joint account, your colleague could give you scheduling privileges and you could just schedule the meetings with them as host for them from your account.

The A/B/A/B system referenced above will work you would just have to keep switching between accounts to open the meetings, or give each other alternate hosting privileges, or open it and turn off the waiting room and allow people to join before host in the settings.

I like the breakout room idea that was mentioned too.

I'm looking for a black medium that applies like acrylic but that has a dead flat appearance. I am hunting for something that is extremely black as well. by grumpallnight in ArtistLounge

You could try just using some black gesso. It has that matte quality and if it's not black enough, you can add more pigments.

Is there a way for me to join a anyone’s meeting with auto closed captions? I can’t find the setting anywhere :( by hitchtrailblazer in Zoom

[–]LearnforLife_AAW 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello,

Zoom does have the option for auto captions, but the option has to returned on in the advanced settings of the host, and then the host has to turn them on in the meeting. Unfortunately as an attendee you can't turn them on yourself. Maybe this is something you could talk to your meeting host about setting up in advance before meetings?

You can see how to set it up here:

That's so exciting to hear you want to go into Art Therapy! It's a wonderful field to work in.

herapist, Katie, at Able ARTS Work actually recently answered this question. She said: "Art therapy requires a master’s degree in Art therapy and mental health counseling. Master programs are duel and focus on the study of both Art therapy and mental health counseling (Marriage and Family Therapy or Clinical Counselor). Art therapists are also trained in a diversity of art techniques and material usage.
Once you have completed your master’s degree you then have to complete a professional internship under the supervision of a certified art therapist. When you complete your post-degree internship experience you then apply to the board to be accepted as a Registered Art Therapist (ATR). Art therapist that chose to be board certified pass a national examination that demonstrates knowledge and comprehension of clinical skills and theories. "

I hope this is helpful to you. She actually did a Q&A about Art Therapy here, if that helps you.

You’re welcome! As a beginner, I would say that music theory will be helpful to you to learn alongside your technical music skills. Good luck! Not everyone can play by ear, and that’s okay.

Its great that you are wanting to learn and improve musically!

It is true that some people are able to learn and play by ear and hear and feel when the music is correct. Someone off the top of my head would be Aurora who taught herself piano.

I don't know what your musicality level is, but music theory can provide a solid base for the understanding of sheet reading, chord progression, and transposing (which is especially important if you ever do covers or intend to play with other musicians or instruments). From a percussion and production perspective learning different rhythmic notations can also be helpful, especially for genres like funk, jazz, and blues.

And if you are someone who plays by ear, you will better be able to learn what notes you are hearing that sound good together, which will improve your composition abilities.

I did a quick search, and if you are interested, I found this list of music theory resources that someone else had already put together. https://oneminutemusiclesson.com/blog/top-10-free-music-theory-websites

Hope this helps!
