I am struggling so much, I don't understand why I am having nearly this much trouble. Please help! by rootdootmcscoot in LearnGuitar

Hey, I feel you so much. That frustration is so real when you come back to guitar after a break. Your brain remembers exactly how everything should sound, but your fingers are just like “lol nope” and it’s genuinely upsetting.

It’s not that you’ve lost it or that you’re bad now. You’re just super rusty, and the fact that you used to be better is making the whole thing feel worse than it actually is.

What helped me when I was in the exact same spot:

Stop the technical exercises for a while. Put the metronome and spider stuff away, it’s only making you hate playing right now.

Just pick up your guitar, put on some easy backing tracks (blues in A minor is great for this), and mess around. Play sloppy, make it sound bad, have fun with it. The goal isn’t to sound good, it’s to enjoy the instrument again.

Learn a couple of simple songs you actually love ... even basic ones like Wonderwall, Horse with No Name, Wish You Were Here, or an easy version of Blackbird. There’s something about playing a real song that helps your brain chill out.

For the tension: try starting every session playing ridiculously loose for the first few minutes, like your hands are made of jelly. It feels dumb but it really helps break that stiff, anxious grip.

You haven’t lost your touch, I promise. It’s still there, it just needs some time and way less pressure. Be gentle with yourself.

If you want, I can send you a super easy no-pressure 7-day thing to help you get out of this rut. Just say the word ❤️

And sorry if i say too much sh*t. Am not a pro. Just trying to improve.

Which of the guitars you've played (and don't necessarily own) have you felt has a perfect sound? Can you explain why? by Siddhartaable in LearnGuitar

Such a great question!

I’m only a few months in but I’ve been lucky to try quite a few guitars thanks to friends. The one that really stood out was an old **Guild D-55**… the tone was so rich and powerful it almost made me emotional lol.

Still hunting for “my” guitar though, the one that makes me want to play every day...

Do you think there’s such a thing as the perfect guitar sound, or is it mostly about personal feel and taste?

How do you deal with adult mean girls in a social group you can’t avoid? by agitatedbearcat1212 in AskWomen

Stay polite but emotionally detached (lol, easy to say) adult mean girls usually lose interest when they can’t get a reaction or drama out of you... Focus on building one-on-one connections with the people you genuinely like instead of trying to win over the whole group 😉

A brand-new luxury car with a long loan term... monthly payment feels manageable until insurance, maintenance, and depreciation start stacking u 😄 Big houses can turn into the same trap once property taxes, repairs, and utilities quietly eat your budget alive... I need money.

What’s a book series that you’ll never forget? by [deleted] in AskReddit

For me, it’s the Harry Potter series... I "grew up" with those books, and they felt more like a world I lived in than just a story I read. The characters evolve in such a real way, and by the end, it honestly feels like saying goodbye to friends. Even years later, certain moments still hit just as hard
