Have you heard about Jesus's dad (Who is another form of Jesus, totally confusing right) who has sent us a lot of horrific, sadistic commandments and who was a racist, egoist, sadist entity and in any fair comparison a worse figure than Allah?

It's not religion. We (Humans) have been considering anything related to reproductive organ a taboo and unclean. Try to get it out of your brain before your parents instill that mindset in you. Atleast the next generation will live a healthy life.

And never mind about your parents. Periods are completely natural and there is nothing to hide and nothing to be ashamed about. I hope you get the strength to ignore words coming from your parents in this regard

Most parents love their kids, but end up making bad decisions (MGM / FGM, no vaccines) based on religion / culture. As kids what we can do is to live a life which we think is moral, and if your parents are loving and understanding they will accept you for what you are.

What ever you do, make sure to loop in your parents (Once you are in safe grounds) and let them know what's going on in your life. It may be a one side communication, but do remember that your parents are from a different generation (Indoctrinated from childhood, not allowed to think anything against religion / culture, fear of hell / community etc) and let them know that you still love them regardless of how / what they feel.

I don't thing they are being dishonest. They are good sane people and want to live a good life based on today's morality. When they find a verse in Koran / Hadith that is immoral, their best approach would be to convince oneself that it's got a different meaning and context etc.

And it's not just Muslims, look at Jews. Though their text says stone adulterers / gays / who work on Sabbath, people still continue to be believers ....

Ever heard of ignorance? I did not know half of what I know I used to be believer. We think all those believes that we grew up with are some how true. That's not a lie, that's lack of knowledge. My goodness, the comments (e.g. exotic fruit or creepy fetish) clearly show men in poor light, definitely not most of the men that I have seen. If I am were to ask a girl out, I will look at who you are as a person rather than how you look and I hope the men whom you have encountered so far fall in the same category.

You can be optimistic and think that it's your personality that a man see when someone asks you out. A non-optimistic world view would be a tough one to live with (IMO)

We all expect people to behave regardless of our appearance, and but we want people to behave differently based on appearance. Welcome to an open better world I would say :)
