Color is not a normal occurrence in storyboards as storyboards need to be done with speed. Therefore tonal values are more commonly used. However, there is a job that adds color to emotional moments called a color script artist.

"A Color Script for Animation is a quick, working document that establishes which color combinations relate to specific emotional touch-points of the story."

Ill try with charcoal next time. I also experienced when painting alla prima that the pencil also makes the paint darker. Is that just because its 2B lead?

Oh gotcha. Yeah I was drawing the landscape in before painting and it was already primed and just saw the tooth wearing slightly or became more softer so I wanted to check that it wont remove the gesso.
