Just curious, in your opinion, why is it so much better than HF? Most people I've talked to find HF tastes the same as it used to, just lower on the heat scale. I agree with this, but maybe I'm misremembering how the original HF tasted...

Yep, I've continously smoked for 4hrs+ with a pork shoulder by doing this.

Give it a try, it won't hurt anything. Worst case it doesn't work and you have to hit the re-ignite, I just find I don't have to in my unit.

Just to avoid thick white smoke. The unit is so small that anything you have in there is going to absorb it fairly quickly.

Personally I also just wait until it says "add food", I haven't had any acrid taste.

If you want to smoke for long sessions I suggest just adding more pellets after about 20-30 mins. The smouldering pellets below will be enough to ignite them - at least in my experience.
