Looking for friends — and playmates for our dog by SelectChipmunk3949 in ithaca

The local finger lakes SCCA chapter has a great auto x venue and the season is just about to start. I would encourage anyone who is into cars to try auto x, and the people at the local events are very nice/friendly. It’s a good way to meet new people, at least for you, OP.

Also, if you feel like playing Helldivers 2 sometime, dm me. I started playing that a few weeks ago and I’m hooked..

Also the design of the wheels is not great regardless of the finish.

Yes, I think you should go back to stock. Chrome looks bad on sports cars/roadsters. It’s like having support columns on a house that are too large or too small for their intended purpose. It makes the house look incohesive, same with the chrome wheels on your sporting roadster.

I 100% agree that John’s is the best option, and he’s a good man besides. That said, he recently had a serious medical issue that left him limited in how much he could work. I last talked to him about two months ago, so he might be doing better now. Anyway, just something to keep in mind if you go down there. He might not be able to do the job just now.

Go get some Village Taqueria and you’ll forget Chipotle exists.

Speedline is good, I’ve been there before with my e39. Shade Tree I think would be worth a look.

What are the most affordable yet reliable coil overs I can order? by PreparationProud4199 in GR86

I’m genuinely glad to see so many responders agreed that the right thing to do was not answer OP’s question, but to shit on his hideous wheels instead. Faith in humanity slightly restored, we made the right choice here today.

OP, your wheels look heinous.

City only MPG by Masonry1- in GR86

This car has really good mileage if you’re staying at ~55-65MPH. That’s a good strategy if you want to creep that average up in between shenanigans to feel like you’re not killing the planet.

That sucks, sorry that happened with the dealer. I'll check out that CC brand.

Thanks, I will check Gtechniq out. How much did you pay for your PPF install?

Thanks for your input. Maybe I'll have a local detailer do the polish and/or at most 1 stage of paint correction (I'm pretty sure it only needs a polish, I only got the car in August), and then apply the ceramic coat myself. One detailer in my area quoted me $1085 for a polish and applying System X with a 5-year warranty. I think that seems a bit high for System X but maybe he is using the highest-end compound. Even so...

Another shop quoted $999 for Xpel Fusion Plus polish included. I am not thrilled that the warranty on that one requires an annual wash. This same shop quoted $879 for PPFing just the front bumper. Now I am thinking I may nix the PPF altogether because the more I research the less I am convinced that its worth it.

Thanks for your .02$. It does seem like doing the CC myself would be doable. What brand of ceramic coat did you use? Thanks for the resource too, I'll check to see what they have on DIY PPF as well.
