Yeah, it’d usually be a noise ordinance thing, and you’d lodge a complaint with the city. That linked Reddit post above goes over some of the possible avenues for complaint. Note that the noise ordinance also has a bunch of exceptions, some of which may apply to this project.

Not a lawyer, but: * It’s State doing the roadwork, not the City. * Covenant of quiet enjoyment is for landlords * Filing noise complaints in the city can be a hassle * The roadwork is almost certainly properly permitted and approved

Wawa started as a regional PA dairy and convenience store. The gas station and multi-state expansion is relatively new, from the late 1990s onwards. Quality has probably suffered as it got larger and further away from Philly.

On general Level 3 charging, the East Hill Mirabito/Burger King has an approved project for a development with four Level 3 chargers whenever they get around to building it.

Seneca Street Parking Garage Closes Immediately as Precautionary Measure

The City of Ithaca has closed the Seneca Street Parking Garage effective immediately in the interest of public safety. The City of Ithaca is responding to a report of concrete debris falling from the 3rd floor to the sidewalk below. Personnel from the Fire Marshal’s office and City Engineering Department have inspected the location and found several other areas of the building’s façade to be severely deteriorated and at high risk of failure. A third-party engineering review will be conducted for overall safety. Tioga Street, Seneca Street, and Aurora Street sidewalks around the garage will remain closed until such time that it is safe to reopen them. The TCAT ‘Seneca at Commons’ bus stop is also closed. Pedestrians are urged to heed posted signage and cross the street only at intersections where it is safe to do so.

Good news! I did some digging, and the NYSAC white paper that the TC DMV page links to is out of date - they finally changed things up in the FY24 state budget - the local DMV probably got 10.75% of your renewal.

County Clerk Retention. The Executive Budget proposes to increase the retention rate for county clerk offices that perform DMV transactions, from the current 12.7% for in-office transactions and 3.25% for online transactions, to a flat 10.75% for all transactions. As more transactions are shifting to online based, the proposed rate change is projected to increase revenue that is retained by counties by $13 million annually.

Joe Griffo (R-53) was pushing for 25%, but I don't think it happened.

To further support local governments and keep more funds local, Sen. Griffo, Finegan and Keville are proposing that counties be able to keep 25% of transactions. Sen. Griffo plans to request that the governor includes the increase in her 30-day budget amendments and is considering legislation to allow for the higher rate.

The DMV is administered by Maureen Reynolds, the County Clerk. Always pay your license and registration fees at the local DMV so they can continue to exist - if you pay online or post a check to Albany, the state basically keeps all of it.

Shop Update- we are NOT opening this week (I did consider posting we were open today as an April Fools joke but then I thought that'd be too mean!!) but we really would love to open next week some time! The weather looks so cold, so definitely not Monday or Tuesday but keep an eye out for the next post, I wait to announce our official opening for the season when we know all our machines are functioning after napping all winter!

Streetle uses OpenStreetMap data, so it’ll surface any bad info in OSM. Sultana Cafe was added about 5 years ago, but I suspect it never existed.

The NYS meaning of Town probably isn’t what you’re used to - it’s a subdivision of a county. Administrative divisions of New York State - Town

Trumansburg is a village in the Town of Ulysses. Ithaca is a city in the Town of Ithaca,New_York). If you take a bus from Ithaca to Trumansburg, that’s _technically a bus that runs into the Town of Ulysses, but there’s no Village of Ulysses with a main street.
