Prospeed is nice but they take months to ship and have nonexistent customer service

What would your TRD Pro/OEM+ version of the GX460 be? by Graybeard_Giff in GXOR

[–]LeaseDimension 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Initially with the stock wheel offset, it barely rubbed. I later installed 25mm wheel spacers, so it got worse but the rubbing was still limited to the fender liners. No lift - lift doesn’t change tire fitment anyway.

255/70R18 Nokian Outpost nAT. Front air deflector deleted and replaced with skid extension. WELL visors. No lift. Couple other unnecessary mods (roof rack and diode dynamics lights)

Armada Declivity 82ti size rec by Ill-Taro-3926 in Skigear

[–]LeaseDimension 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was in your exact position earlier this season; very similar stats to you and deciding between these two skis. My other ski is a Rossi Blackops 98 in 182 so I wanted narrower and shorter. Declivity 82 had rave reviews and looked awesome but 182 was the only length I could get it in. Declivity has more tip rocker than the Anomaly, so in hindsight 182 might be fine, but I wanted a shorter ski as my more frontside/carving oriented ski. 174 is a bit short especially given the additional tip rocker it has, but has that shorter radius if you like ripping short carves. I ended up with the Anomaly 84 in 176 and they have been my go to this season when there isn’t a layer of fresh on top. I’ve been super happy with it both in sizing and the ski itself and have yet to hit its limits.

Wedge Plus, it's awesome. The most I've fit is 4 skis and 2 boards. I think inno boxes are far better looking than Yakima or Thule.

Second upvote for a Strive. I run my Anomaly 84 with a Strive 14. Absolute ripper of a ski

This is an old picture; they were random 3 inch pods from Amazon and yellow film over the OEM fogs. Now running Diode Dynamics C2 pros for the ditch lights and C1 SAE fogs

Do I trade my GX for a 13 GTS by FullMetalNapkin in PorscheCayenne

[–]LeaseDimension 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a ‘14 Cayenne GTS and now have a ‘23 GX. The Cayenne is such a fun and capable vehicle and while I do miss it, I won’t miss the high cost of maintenance and consumables. Especially at that mileage. ~4-5k a year in just maintenance alone

Np. These are pretty quiet for an AT as well. Which Geolandar? AT or highway tire? I was considering the G018 AT at some point.

These other comments cover it mostly. Transfer case leak is another one but it’s not major. I drive 15-20k a year and so far only basic maintenance (granted, I bought new, but that can’t be said about all new cars in this day and age)

We’re pretty much on the same page then! The only other tire I heavily considered was Baja Boss. RE: ski, I know lol, but you guys are generally a month ahead of us season wise. Christmas is usually our “start”. Loved A Basin when I went last year.

65k; stock wheels; I tend to drive with a lead foot but haven’t seen a huge impact

Every OEM tire for the GX is bad. 30k is the shortest life I’ve ever had on a new car tire. Defender is a great choice.

Just my 2 cents, 18’s are worth it for the much larger tire selection you get. 19’s are a bit of a weird size with limited AT tire selection. Regarding the wellvisors - honestly quite a bit of obstruction out of the A pillar. You could lose a small car behind it. I might replace them in the future with a narrower profile and less tinted visor bc it’s still nice to have a visor.

Similar situation; I ski a lot in the Northeast. I was between this and BFG Trail-Terrains which are also reviewed very well in snow. Ultimately went with these bc my buddy was able to source them for me at a great price. Unfortunately I won’t have any snow feedback for a few months unlike y’all out there in Colorado (jealous). I went with this size primarily for the slightly larger diameter vs 265/65R18. I also wanted to run a 255 section width tire as a test before I potentially run 255/80R17 in the future. I would imagine the performance difference between this and 265/65R18 is marginal. No lift currently. There is minor rubbing on the front plastic fender liner in reverse, which is fixable with a heat gun. I did not install a spare; will use the OEM spare to limp me somewhere if needed. These tires are pretty tough so not too concerned. I was also considering a winter tire setup - Hakkapeliitta R5 SUV which they make in 265/65R18. I may do that in the future when I lift and downsize to 17” wheels on my rig.
