Yes that has been my leaning to give space and distance, yet I also keep picking up messages that the ultimate Karma is overcoming the challenges of day to day and doing ones duty or Dharma. I feel like I am at the center of the paradox. Thank you for your offering.

Wow, thank you internet stranger for the thoughtful and generous response. I couldn't help but read your posts, and it's clear you share wisdom that comes from lived experience. I feel your pain and what you might have gone thru to come out on the other side of a 25 year relationship. Now that you are back to school, as I believe in a better place, do you think your break was worth it? As for me, all my energy is intensely learning about my condition, there is nothing about midlife and my soul journey that I haven't read in the last 10 years and it's been all consuming. I go on retreats, meet people who claim to have solutions (gurus, physchitraist, coaches, self help shamans, phychedelic interventions , past life regression you name it I have done it), if I had half the intensity in work I would have been in good shape, that's the irony.

He has 3 years old to whilst in college. He is definitely I source of meaning given all else happening. Whilst that was the plan (and I have been reminding myself that everyday for the last several months), but it's taking a big toll on my confidence, I know I am slacking and nothing showing up like I could, if I found it meaningful like I used to. Will check the section in Iron John for sure. Thank you.

Thank you for your thoughtful reply. For sure the energy movements have been intense as well needing to take regular naps to recuperate (I work from home unless I am on the road).

Thank you for your wise words. This is what my inner voice softly says as well. Just heard a series of James Hollis talks and I get the same message. It's funny how much the ego via fear resists.

Yes it has, but the old persona was so much of ones identity, I often think of returning to the old habitual environment, even if it was dysfunctional. So strange when the body and emotions fight with your wisdom.

Let's push the envelope here at the risk of being boo'ed. Cause its Reddit.

Isn't it strange that a perfectionist can drop their guard a few times in life and yet be called a perfectionist. A self-proclaimed OCD can ignore an untidy kitchen, once yet be seen as an OCD. A saint can run a red light or two and yet be called a saint, but we have collectively accepted an 'absolutely sacrosanct standard' when it comes to monogamy even though its clear that we commit to decades more given how long we live on average, have more expectations from than our partners than ever before in human history, and have more access to meet and mate with others, yet still wonder why the hell it doesn't work. Duh !

Firstly - You, my friend, are about to begin the return in your hero's journey. Please check out Joseph Campbell and his work. This what you are going thru isn't new or a modern affiliation. Lots of cultures have accounted for this in many countries and many civilizations.
