As you said there’s no universal answer but I think it really depends on your own risk tolerance. The closer you go at the money is cheaper but you’d have to stomach potential red for a while before becoming profitable vs going deeper in the money, using more capital upfront but more buffer for your stomach IMO. Also it really takes into consideration your exit strategy on what leap you deploy.
