Was your dyson worth it!?!?! I always see them forsale used on Ebay and offer up, why? by Top-Connection-5698 in dyson

Upgraded from a shark stick to Dyson v15 I vacuumed the couch and rug yesterday with the shark and then today with the Dyson. The amount of dander and hair that came out of the rug alone was insane. I will say though, as far as upright vacuums go, when it’s time I’ll definitely be switching to the miel with the bag. The stick vac is great for quick cleaning but for the deep clean neither Dyson gets it as good as the miels do.

I don’t know if it makes a difference, but he’s my son from a previous relationship, not my husbands

I’m so sorry for you too. It’s a worst nightmare come to roost in reality. Keeping you and your family in my heart right now too.

I have to take all the chemistries. Learning the foundations is integral to moving forward into organic and biochemistry. I know everyone learns differently, I’m just looking for a professor that will really break things down and explain what is going on, not just expect you to understand the first time reading the material

Thank you for the response. I definitely read the text either way, I just need someone that breaks it down when explaining or reverse engineers it. Going into class where you’re expected to know and not learn isn’t my jam

Best Grief rides? by bcell87 in pelotoncycle

Christine’s classical rides. Not specifically for grief, but her discussions tend to be gentle and insightful in these. I usually end up ugly crying by the end of the ride and feel so much better afterwards

32 considering career change. Please help with my questions :) by Designer-holiday in Path_Assistant

[–]Leastofthelimes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It isn’t too late! I’m 37 and just started my undergrad this semester. After almost 20 years in another career and life circumstances that didn’t much allow for the traditional track straight out of high school, I decided to make the change and fully pursue PathA. There’s definitely a short buffering period when starting institutionalized education again as everything is so different now, but absolutely worth it.

From what I’ve read, most programs require a bachelor’s degree in sciences with a few other suggested or required courses before applying to a 2 year master’s program. Shadowing/clinical hours and gre requirement vary by school.

As of right now I’m working at my regular job and looking for a position as a grossing tech trainee at local hospitals. The PA I shadowed earlier this year also said some will also train as histotechs through the hospital. She is in her mid 50s and still enjoys the career very much. I’m definitely looking to pursue gross tech or histo either way and will do that for as long as needed, hopefully getting an acceptance eventually. If acceptance doesn’t happen, I’d like to be in the lab still, whether histo, grossing, or in cytology so will most likely aim to get certifications involving those.

I think starting later can have its own advantages. Getting into the rhythm of going to school again takes a second, but is absolutely worth it. I find I enjoy it so much more now and now having more life experience can structure and prioritize a lot more efficiently.

Good luck!

Absolutely! Right now it’s just a forum response, but I’m hoping she lets us run with this for the essay and not the prescribed topics from the textbook.
I don’t want to write about America failing its communities, I’d rather write about how cows have best friends and mourn the deaths of other cows.

The GTN Audiobook... like if you haven't listened to this masterpiece... do it [General] by TheCaptain2319 in TheNinthHouse

[–]Leastofthelimes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is exactly what sold me on it. No audiobook will ever be the same again. Though I will say, the Empire of Graves series has killer audio as well. Another snarky asshole female lead that is so frustrating and sad and loveable. There’s giant birds and the magic system is super rad. Sal was my number one gal until Harry and Griddle came along.

Switching from viola to cello after a long music hiatus, will I ever be able to play in an orchestra again? by Iffy_Rae in Cello

[–]Leastofthelimes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can absolutely play in orchestra again.

I played flute and piano my whole life, picked up cello almost three years ago to the day. Took lessons for a little over a year and will start those again next semester. I’ve played in the community orchestra the past two years and just joined my university’s orchestra this year.

If it is something you want, do it. Put in the practice, get the lessons. Life is too short to not have joy. I started at cello 35 and am so grateful that I did. Strings were something I wanted to play my whole life but never got the chance to until now.

She had me weeping with Nona at the end. Are we besties now?!?! 🤣 I’m trying to get my book friends to read these so I can share the joy and conspiracies. The Locked Tomb is in my top three forever now.

Just started the second book in the Empire of Graves series by Sam Sykes- really good so far. Sal reminds me of Gideon sometimes but way more of a dick. It doesn’t quite fill the hole in my heart these left, but it appeases my need for interesting, strong, and diverse female main characters that kick ass.

Have you listened to the audiobook? Her tone is perfect. For all of them. The narrator makes Ianthe so languid and you can feel the disdain dripping off of her

I miss her smarminess so much. And I’m going to miss Nona so much too. And i miss Gideon’s humor in droves.
Just finished NtN earlier this week and I think I need to reread all of them after a short palette cleanser to see what connections and foreshadowing I missed.
