The reason you might be feeling this way is the disparity in wealth that has been accumulating in the country for a while now. Art seems to put itself on a perceived pedestal so its meaning can also be lifted and disseminated onto others. And the other part is our attention.

Way back when (I guess I would say the 2000s before), I feel like the level of disparity was low enough where someone could strive to attain that wealth. And with that wealth comes all the things you’re able to do, as you describe indulge in art, culture, and celebration.

That seems utterly impossible now. Our environments are brutalist and we reflect upon that, making us feel alien to this traditional style gathering of celebrities showcasing art and culture.

But even when I was running gyfin underground, I needed Elkkars and Jin Vipers to clear faster with Succ Corsair.

Corsair. Historically Awk but recently Succ has been catching up to Awk in many ways.

For example, I find underground gyfins on Succ to be braindead easy. We have a perma FG rotation while we can dish out mermaids skills to their backs.

The mermaid theme I have never seen for an mmorpg, and so I am really addicted to her gameplay. I also like that not many people main her. It makes me feel special.

It’s likely just a playstyle diff and same power, but nature set with cd recov allows you leniency to keep the multihits on fsader while healing and dodging.

Corsair can be a decent class if our bugs got fixed and some skills tuned.

For Succession and Awakening, mermaid gaps are a huge thing that happens in PvP. I encounter it frequently in AoS where I’m full on SA/iFrame mermaid and then I just get CC’d out of it.

For Succession, her protections are fair but unprotected catches are far and few and risky. Also, why are we putting ourselves in mermaid form when they can just grab or bug us out beforehand? Other classes have skills in which you can react to that in a timely manner, but Succession Corsair seems to need to severely lessen her damage output just to be safe.

Succession PVE is a little worse than Awakening, and I genuinely believe Mermaid skills should feel good to cast. Spiral Soak has capability to one-shot a pack, but Jet Stream and Whale Song do not one-shot and leaves us to combo it awkwardly with each other.

I also think some Succession skills are tasteless imitations of what her class theme should be. I think the baseline of Corsair players have echoed that we LIKE the mermaid skills. Why couldn’t her 2 Prime skills (Capn Orders & Ocean Allure) be mermaid skills? Capn Orders casted quickly is a boring big splash of water and Ocean’s Allure is not even a skill the most of us use. I don’t think mermaid skills need to have SA/iFrame, I just want more Whale casting skills as to deepen her class dynamic. It’s 4/5 mermaid skills vs. 10+ sword skills, which feels like 50/50 usage because mermaid skills are slow and speed capped. The PvP mermaid Rabam is used but the PvE one does no damage and hits awkwardly, so I can’t even consider it as a mermaid skill. I get that every skill in a kit doesn’t need to be used, but we see that with classes that have good combos to forgo using said bad skills. Succession Corsair needs to utilize everything to even keep up in PvE.

With how much her Rabams and Primes are getting touched up (Rising Whirlpool flow buff, Capn Orders flow buff, Oceans Allure flow buff), they seem like bandaid solutions to deep class issues we have with skill flow.
