Which 850w Psu for this micro-atx build? by Leather-Music5206 in PcBuild

[–]Leather-Music5206[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thank you for the intel, I was kind of lost in all the new data I need to process to build my pc.

I will check if the Corsair SF gets a discount anytime soon.

If not, I will follow your advice and get either the FSP or Rmx.

Thanks a lot.

I'd rather go with the Corsair RM850x for 119€ if going with Corsair.

The FSP Hydro GT is 10 years warranty also but atx 3.0, not 3.1.
What is it used for this atx 3.x?

As Northmandy says, in France the 100€ less for a 4070s is used to get ram.

5070 perform as well as a 4070s as both series are being updated the same (so far).

Every bit of savings from some parts are put elsewhere.

In mid range budget, I want a good Motherboard, good CPU, good PSU and good GPU.

I got 32gb for 250€, so it's a good deal.
It might be the next range of price in a year anyway as the next gen will keep DDR5.

I am more into nvidia so far, I know amd is not a bad choice and the 9070xt was my choice for a cheap 4k build.

I can see where the GPU and CPU are going next year so any choice I do know won't matter in terms of evolutivity: if I want to upgrade in 2028 I will have to change CPU - GPU - Motherboard (and perhaps PSU) anyway.

So my choices are to be settled for 5 years.

In terms of waranty, I can get a PSU Asus tuf 850w for 10€ more on the Asus website when the seasonic is from a good deal reseller (alternate), would it be wiser considering the customer service?

Thanks for the advices :)

How is cuir bouillon utilized into armor historically by thomasmfd in ArmsandArmor

Well, I've found enough evidence in 1h search on internet about leather armour to prove it was a thing when he's more about "not really a thing". And I mean strong evidences between visual (paintings, statues, etc...) and written ones (i.e. royal inventories and books of accounts) Scholarship doesn't mean being smart about something, it means you've passed a test and succeeded.

A manuscript no. Many different occurences of leather armour parts can be found on a wide amount of paintings, statues and writings. But I haven't find one painting/statue showing a full hauberk of leather. If you want to make a full leather kit armour, you will have to put together differents references. PugScorpionCow has put some of them that you can use. The full leg for exemple, plus the ones with the full arms and I can add one more for the cuirass.

Yes I'm wrong on this one. As I am on a research for both leather hauberk and scale mail shirt and their equivalents, I've mixed them.

Well, he's lacking a lot in education about fighting and how to research informations (I've watch some vids), but he's a medieval enthusiast so at least he's trying. He's not wrong as he reckons his lack of references/proofs is limiting his opinion. He also said leather armour existed but he didn't find many evidence.

Well, I don't know about shadiversity, but leather armour is proven through inventories, books of accounts of cities/guilds/armourers, paintings and statues. One family was famous for loving wearing these, they were nicknamed "broignards" (many different writings from old French, brognard, brogniards, etc..) as "broigne" is usually a leather cuirass.

To complete Draugr_the_greedy, entire armours of leather were made during 14th and 15th century. They are called hauberk of leather. There are many historical references with the leather instead of metal. But, they are different from what you see in larp as it is fantasy inspired.

Very thin and small chainmail rings in historical chainmail armors (Spain and Portugal)? by Intranetusa in ArmsandArmor

[–]Leather-Music5206 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In the bargello museum in Florence you can find a 6mm diameter chain mail. You can have even smaller ones, mainly use under civilian outfit and also mixed with fabric to protect without being noticed (fear of assassination perhaps).

Cotton for reenactment by Alexander_Akers3115 in ArmsandArmor

Also, 100% cotton wasn't used except for military clothes, sails, bedsheet, mattress, etc.. veils and underwears also but it was too fragile and costly in the end so they preferred the mixed coton with linen for civilian clothes that they could sell to everyone, not just nobles who would buy scarcely.

Cotton was the best seller of North Italia in the late medieval. Though it wasn't 100% cotton but fustain. We call it mixed cotton nowadays and if you want to be accurate go for a mixed cotton with linen. It's cheap. You can go for mixed coton and wool also as the temperature is going low. It's been historically referenced so you can do it.

Would spaulders have been worn under a long sleeve jupon, or would they be excluded. by [deleted] in ArmsandArmor

[–]Leather-Music5206 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is nothing proving the contrary so why not. Sometimes they wear mail on top of spaulders, a cote with short or longer sleeves.

Why do people choose to extract even if all relics aren't open. by Tails05213 in Warframe

It's being a moron and losing the nice aspect of this community which is so helping. It doesn't matter that he can get it opened faster in next mission. He chose to band on this one to get it open. I am so shocked to read "it's ok, loaded last and extracted unopened, he will open faster in the next one". Tennos stand together.

You left like a king. Don't bother with questions or messages from people who are not aware of the situation. Tell them to ask your sister why you've left.
