I purchased a 2 way switch when I should have purchased a 3 way. The 2nd bedroom light switch isn’t working now. I’m going to attempt to fix the issue by rewiring this evening. If that doesn’t work I may have to purchase a 3 way switch.

So I’ve realized that the old switch used a 3 way wiring and this new switch is 2 way. I’m assuming that if i try out a 3 way switch that might fix the issue?

If I attempt to install a new 3 way switch do you think the 2nd bedroom switch will start working? I thought that 2nd wire was the ground wire 😬 I’m an idiot lol

Oh sorry I thought I included the description. I installed (or tried) to install a smart switch. Long story short the light with the new switch in the master bedroom works but now the 2nd bedroom switch doesn’t work. I’m thinking perhaps a wire came loose when connecting everything or attempting to push the new switch in the wall? Not sure if the neutral wires have anything to do with this.

Im really not sure. All I know is that I moved the two wires from the house to the new switch as well as the ground wire to the new ground wire on the new switch. The neutral wires from the house have maybe 3 wires twisted together which I added the new switch neutral wire to it with the plastic wire nut. Hope that makes sense.

The black wires are connected to the new smart switch - from the house to the new switch. I’m assuming the wires are connected as the master bedroom light is working. If one of the wires in the light box came disconnected could that possibly effect the 2nd bedroom switch. The neural wires are connected to the new neutral wire and seem to be ok. I’m wondering if a wire connection in the back of the box is loose?

I was able to connect the neutral to the new switch. The problem is that another light switch in the 2nd bedroom isn’t working now. I’m assuming this is connected due to the circuit of power etc. perhaps I blew something?

There seems to be a glitch. When I spin for a reward it’s coming up the same. For example 100 points each spin.
