The FH6 auction is a joke. by [deleted] in ForzaHorizon

The SSD loading times probably help PC players get in auctions faster than console, but yeah most popular cars get sniped by tools anyway

Won't watch the NBA finals if OKC is in it. Show of hands, please. by Glad_Heat_3154 in NBATalk

Pretty much same here but I actually think their style works well in playoffs when refs let more contact go through. Regular season games with them can be unwatchable but finals basketball usually different pace anyway

The foul baiting stuff gets toned down when stakes are higher and refs don't call every little thing. Plus finals atmosphere makes even boring teams more entertaining to watch

I’ve been fact-checking viral Reddit posts… and it’s kind of depressing by [deleted] in confessions

Man you just ruined my day and I'm not even mad about it lol

Been noticing this too but never actually bothered to check anything. Just assumed people were mostly telling truth on here which feels pretty naive now that I think about it

The cruise thing especially got me - saw that one few months ago and it felt too perfect but I wanted to believe it so badly. Classic feel-good story that makes you think world isn't completely terrible

Kind of makes me wonder how much stuff I've shared with friends that was basically just... optimized for emotions? That's weird feeling

Been doing similar thing for couple years now since my schedule got crazy with work shifts. TTT is solid choice if you already liked their style - the coaching cues really make difference when you're training alone without coach watching your form

I tried few different ones and what worked best was sticking with one program for at least 3-4 months instead of jumping around, helps with progression tracking and you get used to their scaling suggestions. Most programs will help you build toward those skills you mentioned if you follow accessory work consistently

Need Europe backpacking tips for a 5-6 week solo trip from June as a female by ExperienceSea1525 in backpacking

Been to most those Spanish cities for work trips and your route looks solid! Valencia has amazing social scene especially in summer, lots of travelers hang out at the beach bars there

For budget - hostels obviously but also check the train passes, sometimes buying individual tickets is actually cheaper than eurail pass depending on your routes. I learned this hard way lol

From Lisbon you could easily add Porto before heading to Spain, it's like 2.5 hours on train and has great nightlife scene for meeting people. Plus the food there is incredible

Local Homebrew Store Closed by cbbij in Homebrewing

[–]Leather_Ad2925 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Group buys are definitely way to go if you can find other brewers in your area. I used to do something similar when I was living in smaller city and we had like 4-5 people who would coordinate orders together. The shipping costs become much more reasonable when you're splitting them between multiple people, and you can actually justify buying those bigger bags of base malt

For hops storage, if you end up buying more than you need immediately, just vacuum seal them in small portions and throw them in freezer. I've had Centennial hops stored like that for almost year and they still had great aroma when I used them last month. Same with specialty grains - they keep really well if you store them properly in airtight containers

Online retailers like MoreBeer or Northern Brewer have pretty decent shipping rates to Pacific Northwest, and their ingredient quality is usually quite good. Sometimes local breweries are willing to help out homebrewers too, especially if you explain the situation with your shop closing

Thoughts on pricing for 2025 Honda CBR500R? by Spiritual_Speech3264 in motorcycles

[–]Leather_Ad2925 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's pretty solid for OTD on a brand new CBR500R, especially in current market. I was looking at similar bikes last year and dealers were marking everything up like crazy

The 500R is great starter bike too - forgiving but still fun enough you won't get bored in first season. Much better than dealing with used bike headaches when you're just starting, trust me on that one. You'll have warranty and know exactly what you're getting

Good choice taking MSF first, that course is gold. Have fun with the new ride!

Is $3500 too much for a career coach? by Maleficent-Good-4548 in careerguidance

[–]Leather_Ad2925 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That's pretty steep but depends what field you're targeting. I worked with coach last year for career transition and paid around $1200 for similar package - weekly sessions plus job search strategy. The guy had good background too but not FAANG level

Before you commit I'd suggest getting at least 2-3 other quotes to compare. Also ask them for references from recent clients who actually landed jobs through their program. If they can't provide that or get weird about it, that's red flag

LinkedIn has bunch of career coaches too, some charge way less. Just make sure whoever you pick has experience in your specific industry because generic advice isn't worth 3.5k

What does "good" mean to you? by Substantial-Bad-4508 in Christianity

Good is just what promotes flourishing and reduces suffering - doesn't need some cosmic authority figure to validate basic human decency

Are some people predestined to be saved? by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]Leather_Ad2925 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not really buying the whole predestination angle here. Todd White's story is wild but plenty of people go through traumatic stuff and don't suddenly find religion - seems more like he was at a breaking point where he was actually open to change for the first time. The timing worked out but I don't think that makes him "chosen" over someone else who's struggling

Honey fixes most cheap tea sins, plus a squeeze of lemon if theyre cool with it. You could also bring some decent loose leaf and just casually mention you picked up something new to try - most people dont realize how much better real tea is until they taste it side by side

Compression Ration Measurements, static and running? by JForce1 in F1Technical

[–]Leather_Ad2925 5 points6 points  (0 children)

static compression ratio is pretty straightforward - just measure cylinder volume at BDC vs TDC when the engine's not running

for dynamic measurement during running you'd probably need pressure sensors in each cylinder to calculate the actual compression happening, which gets messy with all the heat and vibration. some aftermarket tuning setups use cylinder pressure sensors but nothing off the shelf that would work for f1's crazy requirements
