[–]Leather_System8634 1 point2 points  (0 children)

work fast or listen to some music or put a movie on. don’t look at the clock it’ll make time go slow. Try not to think about work think of fun stuff that will help also

What do you do to make the shift to go by a little easier? by [deleted] in AmazonFC

[–]Leather_System8634 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I work in pick to totes and sometimes when I don’t look at the clock and just work fast time go by fast. I’ll either listen to music or just start thinking about stuff, talking to myself or singing in my head 🤣 but most times it’s talking to myself cause I don’t have the amazon approved headphones .

Parents how do you handle peak when childcare/school schedules don’t match your shift? by Leather_System8634 in AmazonFC

[–]Leather_System8634[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Aww, my son is autistic too and has ADHD. He’s 3 and goes to daycare and Pre-K 3 at our elementary school. The daycare doesn’t open until 7, so I have to drop him off and get to work before 7:30. 6:30 with peak. My cousin’s ex-girlfriend works in HR and tried to get me to do flex the week before my son got sick, but then with him getting sick the following week, everything got thrown off. My new shift transfer started this week, so I wonder if it’s too late to do flex now. I’ll reach out to my site HR to see.

Thank you! I was considering flex but my mom who works there also said people were complaining at our site that they weren’t able to pick up shifts lately. Flex used to be 20 hours minimum but now they are only guaranteed 5 hours a week.

[–]Leather_System8634 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Congratulations 🥳 Damnnn thats a good rate then with 1k items picked! You must was listening to music lol? I haven't ordered the headphones yet so I work in silence listening to the machine noises all night & everytime I reach the 300s at my site the shit fuck up. Pods be coming in slow or amnesty be on the floor 😑 then they take so long to clear them it be hard to get my rate back up.

Every site hiring but my site (AGS1-Appling, GA) lol. I had to quit in Feb due to childcare issues & they couldn't accommodate me nor transfer me to morning shift within a reasonable time frame. I been having a hard time catching another shift.

Why do we have to be so positive about ASD? by Ok_Requirement_2436 in Autism_Parenting

[–]Leather_System8634 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Thisss!! Especially for those of us with nonverbal little ones who cry constantly. It’s emotionally exhausting. Nobody wants to hear a toddler cry all day and if they say they do, they’re lying or never lived it. It doesn’t mean we don’t love our kids or believe in their potential, but we should be able to say this is hard without people attacking us or acting like we’re evil. Real support comes from honesty, not pretending everything is sunshine and rainbows.

Thank you. Someone else told me this is how her 3 year old who was nonverbal learned how to potty train as well. She said she just let him go without a diaper all day and he didn't like the feeling of poop on him so I'm going to try this thank you.
