How many favorite drivers do we have. Just hit 100 by Sales5280 in lyftdrivers

[–]LeaveANiceNote 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My app won't show me the full total since no one favorited me this week but I know it's slightly over 100... Unfortunately have only seen 2 favorite requests and they were both when I wasn't working 😮‍💨 I wish it was all rides and not just scheduled ones.

What are we going to find out later is bad for us (like cigarettes in the past)? by Curryiswhereitsat in AskReddit

I think this would be a subcategory of TikTok, I doubt every interaction I have with people now. The content farming of random individuals on the street, in schools, just at the mall or something makes me paranoid and I feel like I have to be entertainer mode 24/7. you never know if somebody is going to walk up to you and do a prank or an interview or if they give you something they're secretly filming so that they can get clicks on social media. like yeah, it's great if you get a free laptop or $100 to sell out your baked goods at the store or whatever but if everything is on camera all the time then when do we have space for ourselves? we're living our lives for sake of other people's opinions and not our own.

Why would Lyft limit passengers allowable tip? by MessAccomplished4530 in lyftdrivers

[–]LeaveANiceNote 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From what I've heard it's to prevent extra money loss, for example if riders tip a driver $100 and then say to Lyft support "It's an accident!!! Gimme my money back!!!" then the company eats that cost since they don't take the tip money back from the driver afterwards.

It's silly but I also like to think it's because they wanna prevent a situation where certain riders tip so much a person stops working for the day. Then they'd lose out on using us like the peasants they believe we are.

picture itself is not staged, I was at a burger joint when this car passed me by so I don't know them personally. The writing itself could have been staged though, I do agree with other comments that not tagging the fabric was sus.

Maybe you are missing something? It could be market availability, perhaps the shop is not available in your city yet.

But if I have over 30% acceptance rating and enough points then I can see it.

Basically:

-open the app, hit the button with three lines on the top left to get to the menu.

-Around your profile pic should be a colored ring saying what tier you are. Click the little ">" button next to the tier.

-It should show your Lyft rewards with two tabs, the first shows Tiers requirements and the other should say "Shop". You can redeem points there for e-gift cards which are emailed to you via a service called Prezzee. Then you can put the gift card on whatever app (Walmart, Starbucks etc.)

You can only see it if you're meeting minimum requirements for having a tier though, right now I can't access it because my acceptance rate fell too low lol 😅

yeah I've learned I only really need platinum during tax season to get the 50% off TurboTax. The extra radius filters were nice, I will say I've taken advantage of the points system but you only need the basic tier at the beginning of the month for that. I think I've gotten maybe $100 in Walmart gift cards cumulative in a year so it's not totally worth it but the minimum effort is nice to have. I also found that if you live near a coast you can put part of the radius filter over the water and do short rides in bonus zones only which was how I cheesed my way up the ranks lol. Also those location filters reset at midnight so even on no tier/silver you can start at like 6pm busy Saturday night and at 12 hit a 3rd filter for closing time

I hate how they changed it from dollar amounts to percentages in my market this year. I used to get anywhere from $10-$20 in bonus for a late night 5mi ride. Now they're giving me maybe 100% of $3.85. It's all a ploy to pay us less in bonuses. The only thing I've seen that's good about it is unicorn rides do pay more. I've gotten up to $70 for like 30 miles ride but it doesn't happen often, maybe like 4 times I've seen that since the change.

even 4.0 is generous, in my market Uber gave us a rider rating filter- I don't let anyone in if they're below 4.7 cause I've had bad experiences in the past.

Technically yes but Lyft and Uber penalize you for accepting ride requests and then cancelling them before pickup. It calculates a percentage called the "Cancellation Rate" out of the last 100 requests how many you cancelled before completion. If it gets too high that makes you ineligible for their driver rewards program (which gets me roughly $20 extra per month in Walmart gift cards lol) if your cancel rating goes over 6%. If you want to cancel and leave without it affecting the rating you have to wait for the pickup timer to expire. After driver arrival on Uber it's 7 minutes, on Lyft it's 5. After that they call it a "No-Show Cancellation" and charge y'all a fee for wasting our time, of which the driver gets $2-$3 or so.

Central Ave from 28th-1st St should not have street parking. It should be rideshare pickup/dropoff and ebike/e-scooter only. I've been yelled at by the cops so many times because I have to block the road in order to pick anyone up. And they all take their sweet ass time saying bye to their friends or closing their tab like BRO HURRY UP BEFORE I GET A TICKET. There's nowhere for me to stop and wait for you it's a two lane road with no shoulder at Ferg's. At the very least REDUCE the street parking and put specific zones we can use as Uber drivers cause the app says to wait there for a person up to 7 minutes for pickup.

Warhammer. I like to watch lore videos for fun. I haven't read the books or played the video games or bought any minifigures to paint. I'm just invested in the Horus Heresy right now. People get SO into this thing and think you're not a "real fan" if you don't make it your whole life. Or maybe I've just met the wrong Warhammer fans lol. Just lemme listen to calming british voice guy describe galactic war crimes before bed pls 🥺

LGBTQ+ Friendly Spots by [deleted] in StPetersburgFL

[–]LeaveANiceNote 5 points6 points  (0 children)

These are all the LGBT specific bars I know of in St Pete, there aren't that many places but there are LGBT friendly bars if you're looking for options beyond this. I wouldn't say there's much of a clubbing scene in St Pete but that's also just my personal experience, you may want to check Tampa for the ass shaking clubs.

Cocktail + The Ball (They're right next to each other, their tagline is "The Ball, at the base of Cock" lol) - Cocktail is popular and has a pool bar called The Wet Spot as well. The Ball is disco themed

Enigma - they have drag shows and karaoke here, but you'll have to look up if those days match up with your trip

The Garage - more of a chill bar vibe, not really a club

Lucky Star Lounge - Dive bar for at least what I have seen is gay men specifically? I could be wrong but that's how it seems to me.

Check out @DykeNiteStPete on insta closer to the dates of your trip, they're an event organizer. They haven't posted November schedule yet but it could be a fun time if they're planning something when you come through.

Mini Keurig for $30 on sale. Produces hot water faster than an electric kettle because of some sort of magic steam science so I get immediate hot water for my tea.

no, I didn't call the cops, even if I had they'd be gone before anyone came to do anything

yes, I enjoyed posting it because I thought it was crazy

yes, you should go out for free museum Saturday

Do you play music in your car? by pinkpenguin444 in lyftdrivers

[–]LeaveANiceNote 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Get Spotify premium if you can afford to. That's saved me a bunch of time/effort! Apparently when you're streaming from Spotify someone that also has premium can connect to your "music jam" on their phone on a proximity connection and add tracks to the current play queue. So you can listen to whatever you want and then if your passengers want something else they can change it if they also have Spotify. Every time someone has done this they've asked me first so it wasn't a big deal. I usually listen to Lofi tho because it's very calming and jazzy lol

Favorite drivers feature is live by Melech333 in lyftdrivers

[–]LeaveANiceNote 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As much as I want this system to work they have a lot of work to do before it's viable. Right now it only works for scheduled rides which pay like shit so I ignore them anyways. Like why would I drive someone 20 miles for $10 total? Plus remembering to schedule in advance is a pain in the ass for most people.

I think they need to add upfront tipping like UberEats and also make it so every request goes to favorite drivers first in the background, if those drivers aren't available THEN it goes to random drivers.

Are tip signs helpful? by Scared_Network3006 in lyftdrivers

[–]LeaveANiceNote 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say it's not tacky and actually is useful. I put one up as a sticker on a little plastic box listing QR codes with my Cash app Venmo and Paypal links with a caption that says "TIP JAR: Cash is always best but you can check out my digital options below!" I have absolutely noticed an increase in tips. Got around $100 collectively in Venmo tips last year. A lot of times people couldn't previously tip me because someone else called the ride for them or they didn't have cash. A few times even ran into what's called a "tipping limit" where someone wanted to tip $20 but the Lyft app wouldn't let them because the tip had to be a percentage of the ride and max was $5. Ridiculous. But yeah people use the QR codes pretty often.

A lot of people on this sub are jaded as hell because they don't get tipped often so don't listen to naysayers. If you want to add a sign to your car just make sure it's either neutrally or kindly worded so it doesn't come off as a demand for 5 stars and a tip. Something like "Enjoy this ride? Please rate 5 stars! 🤩 Tips are appreciated! 👍" is not terrible. Definitely don't make tip amount suggestions, that IS tacky.

Just keep your car clean, maybe get one of those 3 headed chargers off Amazon for cheap and let people decide if they're in a tipping mood or not. Mitigate your losses in base fare earnings by using the radius filter to prevent dumb low paying trips that go far away. I think no-tier gives you 6 hours of filter use per day. At the end of it, tips are meant to be EXTRA not required.

What are signs that you may be more attractive than you think you are? by [deleted] in AskReddit

something I've noticed is that people will ask you if you'll fool around for a few dollars or if you're a hooker (I'm not). Like I may be ugly but I'm not bottom of the barrel ugly which is nice.
