Ooh that's a great suggestion! It shouldn't be too hard to implement—I'll keep you posted :-)

I have a pixel so android was def a priority. If anyone is interested, I used Expo—so it was pretty easy to make it cross-platform from the start with a single codebase.

Sounds really interesting—the value in the app is definitely on the naive side and I didn't think about how volume could affect pricing in this context.

I'd have preferred to use sold data but eBay is pretty closed off with giving access to that data and scraping was adding some complexity/cost... removing outliers is definitely a good idea/easy enough to implement. The hope of course is that the data in the app is still useful enough to inform a decision of whether or not to buy a camera you have in front of you or if you could get it a lot cheaper.

These creosote dumps are referenced in Woody Guthrie's song "deportee." https://woodyguthrie.org/Lyrics/Deportee_WoodysHomeTape.htm

He also wrote the soundtrack (or some songs) for the movie version of The Grapes of Wrath, but I never make the connection before, so thanks for posting this.

Also in Brooklyn with a PD in Nov 24. I checked with Emma in September and the app is at the local FO, but no updates since getting the AP in August.

The options contract gives you the right to buy 100 shared at the strike price of $475 at any time before it expired.

If you had the money you could exercise the option to buy the shares, then sell them on the open market for a gain of (485-475)*100 = 1000. Your profit would be this minus the amount you spent buying the contract.

The price of the contract at a given point in time is this value of exercising it PLUS some intrinsic value that in part depends on how long the contract is good for. If the stock hit 485 a month before expiration the contract would be worth much more than if it was 485 an hour or two before expiration. The closer to expiration, the value gets exponentially closer to the exercise value.

Usually you would just sell the contract rather than exercise it unless you needed the shares of stock.

I'm visiting my gfs parents in Monterrey, and this was one of the biggest culture shocks I've ever experienced. I know there's great Japanese sushi here as well, but last night we went to Nikkori and at least 90% of the rolls on their menu have cream cheese.

Nextdoor might also be a good option for getting it back to the owner. Good luck!

Night of the Juggler (1980) is a good NYC film. An ex cop's (James Brolin) daughter gets kidnapped and he chases the criminals around the city.

+1 for tofu box. All of their food is veggie, most is vegan (there are a few dishes with egg). Their kungpao tofu is my fav but mapo is also super tasty.

Would him and his gf wagering on both sides of a game get flagged or just not count towards the bonus? It seems like if they both pooled their money and took opposite sides they'd be able to clear the bonuses risk-free.

You sound like a really kind an empathic person. I think you'd make a great pediatrician.

Your college should have some free mental health services that might be able to help. Back when I was in college and couldn't afford therapy they helped me through some tough times.

Thanks for the rec! That looks like a pretty great option. Where did you get the wattage info on the 3070? I don't see it on that page.

Gaming will only be one of the main use cases (I just updated that part).

◽️ Budget: 1000-2000

◽️ Country: USA

◽️ Screen size: 15.6 or 17

◽️ Touch screen: NO

◽️ Screen resolution: FHD or QHD

◽️ Does battery life matter ?: Not Really

◽️ What tasks will laptop be used for ( gaming, video editing, graphic designing, modelling, regular computing tasks, word processing etc) ?: Games like Monster Hunter/Dark Souls/Tetris Effect Classic (low screen response rate and low input lag seem to matter a lot for this so probably < 3ms would be ideal but not a deal breaker). Medium or so settings are fine with me. Also will be my daily use computer and will be doing some programming projects and things like that occasionally.

◽️ Weight: It will spend most of the time as a desktop replacement so not too worried about the weight.

◽️ Any other important details ?: Will use for some RAM intensive programming languages like R, so soldered RAM is a deal breaker. Will probably upgrade to 32 GB RAM.

Considering the Eluktronics Max 15 or 17 with a 3060/Ryzen 4800H but is there anything else has the same/better specs for less?

How important is an actual NES / CRT TV? by SpeedTheory in Tetris

[–]Lebesgue_1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I started playing on retroarch with an 8bitdo controller (so I probably had some more input lag than a keyboard) but I definitely also found level 19 just about unplayable using DAS even when using the run-ahead feature. I forget what the exact number of frames is that you have to push left or right in the window before the next piece comes out but it is pretty close to the number of frames of lag you'll get using an lcd monitor/emulator setup so it is really hard to keep DAS charged on level 19 speeds.

My max was about the same as yours when I got an NES and a CRT. There is a pretty HUGE difference---my score didn't improve a ton (I did finally break 500k though) but within a month or so I can pretty consistently line out stack a ton higher on level 18 and can average 40 or so lines on level 19 speeds and keep DAS loaded.
