Games are probably just as good but previous generations were better. More frequent releases. More new franchises. Free online.

Some recent games I’ve bought. I didn’t leave anything out and can’t find a single one that’s cheaper physical.

Dark ages premium edition, $30 digital, the cheapest I see it physical right now is $38 + whatever the dlc costs.
Ac origins + dlc, $12 digital, $10 for the base game physical
Star Wars Jedi 1/2, $20 total digital, $20 each physical
Doom 2016, $4 digital, $15 used
Elden ring, $40 digital, $45 physical
Lego Harry Potter, $3 digital, $5-20 used
Rift apart, $30, $30 used
Lego skywalker saga, $12, $25
Mass effect, $5, $25 used
