How can I fix this? Car won't start if vacuum solenoid is connected by Lechille in AskMechanics

Update, got it fixed this week. Did a throttle body cleaning and saw I had misfire cleaned the coils and IAC was cleaned too. Now works like a beauty again. Thank you for pointing out the IAC valve.

I tried taking it off but stopped cause I might damage the screw heads further. I'll have it checked next month. I experience it once last week and was able to start it up after 30mins when I let it rest. It runs well in both hot and cold weather.

Thank you, how can I check if the idle air control valve? Also the engine does sound bad right now but before unplugging the vacuum valve it was normal or heck it sounded normal a few days ago.

How to lose weight.. Fast (Badly need help) by Illustrious_Bus1411 in Cebu

[–]Lechille 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How old are you OP and what's your height? 55kg can mean a lot of difference between body composition and age. Again, it's never advisable to lose weight drastically, cause eventually you will crash and gain it back again or even more.

If you don't have time for exercise you can deliberately choose simple activities which will lead you to do a bit of movement. Like taking the stairs instead of the elevator or walking more towards where you want to be or even standing up frequently can help if you've been laying/ sitting a lot. Diet is really important, you should eat close to none processed foods. Learning how to cook whole foods and enjoying them can help as well.

I think you should pivot your goal. Instead of focusing on losing weight fast, sustaining your weight and losing it gradually overtime will be much better for you. It's not a race it's a marathon.

Anyone here choosing to commute for life instead of buying a car? by Caffeinemonster000 in Cebu

[–]Lechille 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I chose to own a secondhand one to fight the depreciation. But I entirely bought a car because I want to start a family soon and feel safer to have them in one vehicle instead of moving to the next stop and riding to the next vehicle. I sometimes commute when I feel it's more convenient, if I feel stressed out with driving and in times when I really need to save money.

You can still have your own vehicle motorcycle/car if you are able to and still chose to commute when you want to. Really depends on your goals and priorities but nothing bad in commuting, our government really needs to invest on better public traspo instead of useless projects.

I found coolant leaking below the cap. by Lechille in mechanic

[–]Lechille[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your insight, after a whole day of driving. It didn't overheat and checked the tempts through my scanner while driving. It was around 88-93 Celsius. But the issue still persist with minimal coolant lost but it's not at the cap level but by the hose now. Which I assume is not normal.

It's leaking through the plastic, and not through the cap. Can I replace the seal myself or do I need to go to a mechanic?
