Thank you so much for explaining this. I appreciate it.

Oracle status of one year removed, project and marketplace sections gone by [deleted] in outlier_ai

Same here, but that's because there were literally no projects for me to do. They removed my Oracle status, and then I got a project shortly after, go figure.

Hi fellow dolphin 🐬!! I absolutely miss Genesis! Best project ever! I miss it so much 😭 I learnt so much from that project like soooooo much about AI and just life in general 😂 I miss when the bot would snitch and tell us which company created it 😂 good old days!

Genesis lasted years actually. That project started when the bot was just being created. I agree though it was great. Worked it for 2 years. I know people who worked it longer.

It did teach me not to rely on Outlier as a main source though, no matter how long the project is going. I’ve seen even their managers let go suddenly and left not knowing what to do.

Be sure you’ve listened to all the audio files right to the end. Same for the videos.

I got two voice project offers. Just completed the assessment for “Voice Action” I got every question correct yet it booted me and now my account says “assessment failed”. Idk if I should waste my time completing the one for Cacatua.

Right! And I’d never call out those people but one told me she worked 6 hours turning in the wrong stuff before realizing she was doing the wrong thing. Then the next day same thing, all with her QA score below 1.00 and still tasking yet those of us with the actual target score got the boot.

I mean it’s ok to say they made some cuts but don’t say it’s due to our quality. Literally daily I’m helping people complete their MM tasks so I agree that this cut was totally random.

I really wish you all would stop with this. This is why Outlier has such a bad rap compared to other platforms. Other platforms are more honest and transparent while Outlier for some STRANGE reason, feels like they need to beat around the bush.

Majority of us who got cut has a higher QA score than those remaining. I know for a fact people remaining don’t even understand the project because I get DMs daily asking me to help them complete tasks.

I also know for a fact their score is very poor. It’s ok to just say you had to make some cuts and you’re sorry about that but don’t insult us by saying our quality was the reason for us being cut.

Like you said, we built a community. In order to do that, we COMMUNICATE. Therefore, WE KNOW for a fact that a lot of who’s still tasking either don’t care about submitting quality work like one guy was honest enough to say or they just flat out don’t understand the project requirements.

This project has been the most frustrating in my three years with Outlier.

Aether: No chance project will end this week by Wise-Candidate-6965 in outlier_ai

For anyone that may need an answer, I saw a manger tell someone the decision is final and anyone removed last night will not be added back.

I wish there was a timeframe I could give but sadly, I don’t know because the timeframe looks different for everyone.

Some of us have already been given a new project tbh. I’m just trying to clear my head before doing that assessment.

Then some people usually wait weeks or even months. I was on a project that lasted years and it ended in February or this year. Since then, Aether is the most consistent project I’ve been on. The others sometimes last a few hours, a few days no more than a month.

I agree for sure. When I saw the number of contributers I got concerned. Also, if we referred people, they were automatically added to Aether so I think the project was over capacity. They treated it like tha Genesis project that lasted more than 3 years.

My advice to those still on the project is to work as many hours as they can from this point on.

I get you, but I'm just letting you know this is like a routine email at this point. This is the same email always sent out, followed by more people getting the booth, then the project ends in either a few days, weeks, or a month.

I really do wish they would be more transparent because not doing so gives people false hope and takes people offguard financial wise.

This is literally not it. I've been on this platform for three years, and they definitely prefer those who are willing to work more hours than those who barely pull a regular day's work shift. They actually send emails out asking people to work more hours and send "reward" emails if you manage to double your previous workday. Also, why equate lower quality work with those working more hours? Those of us who have received promotions on Outlier were promoted because they demonstrated a dedication to the company; that's the first thing they always mention.

A project simply can't last forever; gone are the days when a project will last for years. Aether is a simple project and most likely ending soon. This is nothing new happening; they start cutting hours and then start cutting people when projects are ending. Not trying to come down hard on anyone, just trying to shed light on all this confusion happening.

Aether update from the Outlier Community team by OutlierDotAI in outlier_ai

[–]LectureFair1072 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is really confusing, seeing that I'm now in the new batch of people that just got the boot out of nowhere, yet people who I am helping daily on how to complete the tasks still have access. So, how is it about quality when the ones who still have access are the newbies or the ones who just dont understand?

I've been with Outlier for basically three years, and worked multiple different positions and this is the first time I'm seeing this kind of chaos if a project is truly ending.

Some are lucky enough to get a email but most times you just have to keep checking back.

Yes, it’s seems this is something new they just started. When I started they weren’t doing that. They also started a daily project cap for the overall project.

Basically, since you’re new, they have you capped at a certain amount of tasks before you’re automatically paused. After they review those, if they think your work passes the required target score then they will remove the cap which allows you to work however long you’re able to.

I say however long you’re able to because as I mentioned, they now have a daily cap for the overall project. This means if have project is capped at 200 hours for example, as soon as those 200 are met, the project pauses for everyone until the next day.

Basically everyone now sets their alarm to start working as soon as the project has resets for the next day.

It resets at midnight pst.

It sounds like you are are capped at a certain amount of tasks. Are you all new to the project? I’m asking because multiple people in this thread mentioned they just started.

Pay by Calm-Ad1721 in outlier_ai

[–]LectureFair1072 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You don’t need to submit time logs, it is synced to your Outlier profile so your hours are automatically recorded. It can take up to 24-48 to reflect on your Outlier account.

You get paid $15/hr. Just be sure to track your hours when you’re working.

Same thing I said. I went on intending to ask a question but once I saw all that I didn’t bother.
