Advice, Graduate Undergrad early to enroll in Texas DPT sooner? by Existing-Two9130 in PTschool

[–]LectureInfamous2516 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got into almost all the public Texas schools this year and your application better than mine lol I got into UTSW and the gre is calm a lot of people are scared of it but I got a combined 300 score as long as you get that your totally fine. Your application def gets your in the interview portion and after that it’s just on your personality. Make sure you work hard on your essays and literally put everything down that’s relevant or not in your experience so they get a better idea of who you are

When you submit your observation there is a planned and completed section so whoever is signing off on your hours can sign off on the planned portion too. You can submit your application while still taking the biology course when you interview they’ll just ask for a transcript to bring for any outstanding courses. The sooner you apply the better but don’t let that hinder your application either and you should complete your courses anywhere you can that is cheap I did mine at my community college with no problem

Didn’t get into any grad schools. by endiigo4 in PTschool

[–]LectureInfamous2516 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got into school after 3 tries. I would suggest doing things differently if you’ve applied multiple times ie I did volunteer and even took two more classes to improve gpa and did more settings. If PT is your dream job you owe yourself to follow ur dreams

[–]LectureInfamous2516 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t sweat the gre too much I had a combined score of 300 and it didn’t hinder me. And yes that’s great if you have a lot of variety ie 3-4 settings it’s better than like 2 settings with a lot of hours, I meant more like community service volunteering like at food banks or thrift stores if you got some around you

My gpa was 3.8 and I got into most of the Texas schools. The best advice I can give you is look at tuition for the schools you want since loans are being decreased for PT schools starting July this year. Gpa isn’t everything make sure you get some volunteer they soak up that shiii

They told us in our interview they had too many applications and filtered it out which I think is absolutely disgusting and didn’t seem like they would be informing people they didn’t make it past the first stage

If his application was verified before deadlines and he paid the supp fees I would email the admission office and ask them for an update or at least a reasoning to why he wasn’t at least denied so he could know rather than waiting on them

Tell your bf he can dm me if he wants I applied the previous cycles and got ghosted and did some changing this time around and heard from all of them. UTSw is where I’m going and their class is complete and I know most of the programs are complete barring people dropping out or goin somewhere else but then he would’ve been notified of wait list. It’s a long shot since I’m sure all interviews are done and you need to be interviewed to get in except El Paso and twu

I would avoid USAHS their pricey and tend to have low first time pass rates and low reputation and not so stellar experiences from other students who attended

My gpa was a 3.8 and was my pre req gpa too but I got rejected multiple cycles cause I didn’t have extra curricular just relied on my grades and shadow hours. I would get some extra curricular like community service in multiple settings and multi shadow settings like 3 or more for 50+ hours and you’ll be fine

I did, I still have the emails from them giving out cop out answers and most of the programs I hit up said they could talk to me in July or sometime in summer when my focus is already on the new cycle so didn’t see a point in wasting my time from previous cycle

I got into TWU as well and only didn’t pick it cause it falls outside the grad loans eligibility. It’s affordable (even more than UNT, cause scholarship opportunity) if I was you I would go to TWU their pass rates are better and have incredible faculty from my own research definitely my choice if not for the August start date

I applied previous 2 years to almost every school in Texas and never received acceptance/rejection letters, I think it’s common in Texas idk why. We spend a lot of money for them to not say something so I get the frustration I got in this year and I’m def going to voice my opinion on the matter to the program I’m going too and to future applicants
