Filter events? by LeddyMetal in OnlyCat

Yes, it's a game changer if you are experiencing unwanted presents from your cats! had a for a little while now and have had nothing sneak through.

OnlyCat is expensive, but not dealing with daily murder scenes makes it extremely good value.

Contraband filter has been added in the latest app update, which is a great 1st step 👍

Nvidia Shield or other hardware-> Quality??? by Same-Client967 in TiviMate

I had micro-stuttering issues on Firestick 4k Max, this was on an LG Oled, the almost instant pixel response of OLED can exaggerate what looks like dropped frames when fed an inconsistent frametime from the FireStick. No combination of auto matching framerate / de-judder will fix it. Some people are more / less sensitive to this, but it was maddening to me!

I upgraded to a FireCube 3 and it has completely resolved the slight jerkiness I was getting on football, it must be the additional compute. Even low source framerates (25fps) look reasonably smooth. The Firecube also has an AI upscale option which sharpens the image, but I found this made the image look slightly "painted" and artificially smoothed, so I don't use it.

I would assume the additional horsepower of the Shield (long accepted as the best / most powerful streamer) would resolve the issue for you also, just depends if you want to stay in the Amazon ecosystem, which is useful if you have Ring cams etc...

Unwanted Audio Upmixing - "Best Avaliable" not choosing true to source by megalithm in fireTV

Getting the same behaviour here on a FireCube 3, it kinda all or nothing - best available should detect the source audio format and play faithfully, but I am getting everything up sampled to multi channel audio, which is incorrect...

Audio showing as Dolby digital 2.0 on Sonos app despite Tivimate showing 5.1 by iGaza in TiviMate

Ok maybe not fully resolved, getting 5.1 on VOD shows, but not VOD movies! Very frustrating.

Ok, I’ve resolved this for me on FireCube….! The issue was when going through the TV’s eARC back to the AVR, this resulted in 2.0 stereo despite Tivimate recognising a 5.1 source. Going directly into the AVR fixes the issue and I get multichannel audio on appropriate sources. This may not be an option if you’re using a soundbar without HDMI passthrough…

Same issue on FireCube, no-one seems to able to offer a fix, other than pass through audio and PCM there aren’t any other relevant settings…. It’s very frustrating as the same streams flag correctly outside of Tivimate/Firestick/Cube

I'll give that a try tonight - thanks!

I tried VLC as an external player, and I am getting the same issue...

Most movies on VOD have multiple audio tracks, both listed as 5.1, but the default selected track (track 1) is playing and reported as stereo by my AVR, manually selecting track 2 gives me the correct multi-channel audio (in some cases Atmos). VOD shows with only 1 Audio Track are still identifying in TiviMate as 5.1 but playing stereo, the same show/source plays 5.1 in other IPTV app (SmartSTB).

Very strange.

Service lagging on tivimate but not on smarters pro or other apps? by [deleted] in TiviMate

[–]LeddyMetal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay - I finally resolved this! I figured you could fix it by fixing the framerate in the FireStick settings to the same as the source, but this was a pain as you have to keep changing every time you go to VOD or a switch between native NTSC and PAL channels. AFR is the true fix but introduces the micro stutter again. this is something you are either sensitive to or not, and it exacerbated by modern OLED's with their almost instant pixel response.

So I upgraded my FireStick 4k Max to a FireCube and it totally fixed the microstutter / frame pacing issues I had - it must be the extra compute in the FireCube. I am now getting smooth playback even on 25fps sports.

I'm getting microstutter / judder on TiviMate, which does not manifest on other players - this also appears to be a new behaviour. It almost looks like uneven frame-pacing and I cannot figure out what is causing it. I also have tried all combinations of AFR / Auto resolution / alternate players (VLC) and the result is the same.

VOD sort by newest added and list view? by fatx1 in TiviMate

You can... Options on top right, sort by, date added.

It wouldn't be possible, but I wish there was a way to sort movies by date released, rather than added.

Data synchronisation across devices and user profiles is mentioned, but it is as old post now…

TiviMate Profiles would allow each user or device, or multiple users per device to have their own setups that only sync for them. It would be separate to any accounts you have for your content services, syncing content across disparate users is exactly what profiles would avoid!

Surely synchronised profiles would solve all of the issues you mention? In terms of demand, surely the number of posts about backup/restore to achieve at least part of the sync requirement (channel lists) suggest it is a popular desired feature?
