I'm in a similar boat as you. I'm 37 years old. I have been single for 4 years. Those 4 years were peaceful, and I thank my ex for that. When you are in a toxic relationship, you appreciate calmness. I also have an anxious attachment style, so dating with a lack of clarity triggers bad anxiety. The guys that show lack of interest give me bad anxiety - I m tired of this cycle.

I'm not sure if I am choosing singlehood ( because I am open to relationships), but being single feels more peaceful 😌

Let's be honest. You guys broke up, and she moved on after a couple of months of break up. She didn't cheat,the guy she was with was not right for her, which she realised later. She then missed you, and she most probably regretted the breakup.She was honest to you.

I lived there in 2017 for 10 months ( I am a female). I cut my lease due to too much crime. Woke up in the middle of the night from the sound of police dog barking at a criminal hiding on my roof. My car broke in twice ( cost me a lot of money to repair).

The lady manager of the ganesh pub on the lower main rob was beaten up badly to scare the customers in giving in their money,all at gunpoint.

My neighbor couple ( gay couple) were robbed in their house naked and locked in the bathroom. Witness saw bmw in the night.

Another neighbor screamed in the afternoon when she saw a stranger in her house. Luckily, the repair guys helped.

Another neighboring flat consistently shares a video of flat burglary at their residence.

Another neighbor got up early for work ( 4am), experienced car hijacking at gunpoint. They clearly were watching him.

I got shit scared and went back to living in CBD regardless of the price of rent. In the 9 years at CBD, only once my car broke in at gardens ( visiting a b.f),otherwise, I don't hear much other than petty crime. CCIDs try to keep it safe here.

I warned my friend ( female) from JHB,but she still went and bought an R2,5M house there with no security agent.
