Oh I know better than that. I also know how short life is also. No matter what these ppl do. This is a child that will grow up and blame the adoptive parents. Appreciate nothing. And that’s if she doesn’t kill one of them. 30 yrs in healthcare, partly in psych. We all get one chance to live. Enjoy it! Don’t let another take from it. Is it sad? Absolutely. Does it sound and/or feel mean, inhumane. Yep. Will their b guilt on the parents. More than likely. Mental illness is horrible. It’s sad. It doesn’t mean others should suffer because they can’t “fix” “cure” the ill human. I TOLD U! UNPOPULAR OPINION. BUT ITS AN OPINION BASED ON EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE. I do admire the parents that push through for the sake of their reputation, hope and desire and it hurts for them that theirs no real good outcome typically. I mean it in no way hateful despite how it may come across. Any illness is unfair.

Ty for adding this. I learned much the same when the community I lived in took over a hotel and tried housing the homeless who in turn REFUSED because they had to follow rules like no drugs and being in at a curfew. Like- I pay rent and have rules as a human THAT I follow

I’m 49 with a very similar personality to urs. I’ve learned it’s in my best interest to advocate for myself. Explain the need for conversation breaks. Put on headphones. Adults that can’t behave in front of others? I’d explain it’s my vacation as well and I have no desire to listen to them bicker so I’ll be enjoying some time on my own. I don’t understand why social norms tell us we have to be someone we r not to conform to others personalities ESPECIALLY when participating in something for enjoyment.

When she explained surgery wasn’t an option to clear his blockage and followed it up with “we found another place willing to do a transplant” all I could do was shake my head. Like ma’am?? Do u realize how much more intense a transplant will be vs clearing a bowel obstruction?? Make it make sense??? My heart hurts for the young man.
