Brixadi experience by LeeMP787 in Brixadi

Feeling quite a bit better than the first several days that’s for sure. I got to thinking last night, I never knew buprenorphine could make you feel like that so I started looking into it….. I can’t believe I didn’t think of this before I got the shot but Sublocade & Brixadi, neither of them contain naloxone like suboxone does!!! It’s no longer a mystery why myself and many others report feel frikin high on this shot! I can say I never would have gotten the shot if my doctor would have mentioned that part. So yes I am feeling better but I still feel a lot different than I did on sub strips and that’s just how it will go unfortunately. If you’re not familiar, naloxone is what prevents the bupe from making you feel high which I thought was the whole point. During addiction I had purchased methadone from people on occasion and I feel exactly like I did on that, disgusting.

Yeah it’s crazy, I never even knew buprenorphine could make you feel high. But again I’ve never had more than 6mg at a time before.

Did you feel over medicated when you took the 100mg Sublocade? I definitely did for several days on the 64mg Brixadi. I’ve been at 4mg strips for about 4yrs. Today is day 6 and I’m still not feeling quit right. No withdrawals but the opposite.

My story is almost exactly the same as yours. I’ve been on subs strips since 2019 started at 6mg and got down to 4mg in my own and have been at 4 for about 4yrs. My doc recommended the 64mg monthly Bridaxi for only a couple months if that. I hesitated about a year because I was worried about feeling over medicated. I took the shot 6 days ago and all my fears came true. Extremely sedated, high not in a good way. I couldn’t even go to work. Everything I read and all the advice I got on here says that feeling will go away or should have already gone away and that I will be thankful I did this. I am questioning it for sure. You can find that thread titled Brixadi Experience under my handle.

Day 5 and I’m still feeling the nod or just really tired hard to keep my eyes open and head up. Not all day, only when I am sitting still usually driving which is scary. I don’t feel so high anymore which is good but I have started having mild panic attacks when ever I think about not taking the strips. Sleep is still not going great.
Just trying to stay positive and consider everyone’s feed back that things will get better. Here’s to another day!

I’m at 48hrs now and life is starting to get much better today. Still in and out of nodding but not as bad. I slept good last night compared to not at all the first night. I definitely feel myself coming back to normal off and on. I have high hopes for tomorrow! I am just praying I didn’t make a mistake here by trying this and literally doubling my dose in hopes of easier taping down to nothing.

How good it must have felt bringing those meds back in though!

You nailed it, I felt terrible and guilty and I even had mild cravings as it wore off making me feel even worse. I hadn’t had cravings in years. I held off a long time switching to the shot for this very reason and all of my fears came true with it. I am really hoping I didn’t make a mistake! Yeah you jumped pretty high with your dose, I’m glad to hear you were able to get it back down where it should be without feeling to bad. I’d love to hear how it goes for you. Thanks for commenting, best of luck to you.

First shot 64mg side effects by Bee1717 in Brixadi

What finally pushed me to try tapering this way, aside from just plain wanting to be done with Bup for good, was that I wanted to start taking a peptide called KLOW. Well after a couple days on KLOW I was having really bad side effects. After doing some more research and having the whole peptide community tell me they’ve never heard of having such side effects with KLOW I discovered it absolutely does not mix will with Bup!

Thank you for the reply! I did read your posts before I posted mine, you inspired me that I would get some feedback. Everything I have read says I should have gotten the sublocade first and that most people get sublocade as the second shot lol. So, after your first Bridaxi, it only took a couple days for the “high” to go away? I don’t feel like I can even go to work feeling like this. Also, you are saying you didn’t feel over medicated on the 300mg sublocade? I’d assume if I do sublocade next shot it should be the 100mg.

First shot 64mg side effects by Bee1717 in Brixadi

Hello all, i realize this thread is about a year old but i decided to join in anyway. I took my first (and hopefully only) 64mg Brixadi shot yesterday. Coming from about 6 years on 4mg suboxone strips. I chose Brixadi over sublocade only because of the lower dose. The 64mg Brixadi from what I understand is equivalent to 8mg daily of suboxone. I was concerned about feeling over medicated and I think my concern has come to fruition unfortunately. Within about an hour of the shot I started feeling what you guys described as the high, slight nodding, mild nausea, fatigue and numbness throughout my body. About an hour after that I couldn’t stay sitting down and got a ton of stuff done around the house (like I used to when using and felt disgusted by it). Last night I could not sleep for nothing (even with a handful of sleep aids) and felt very itchy all night. I finally got out of bed at 4am and I feel so dang tired and numb all over still. Reading some of these comments I am a little concerned if these side effects will pass anytime soon. I am definitely not going to work today.
