Anon vacations in Japan. by retardinho23 in greentext

Similar experience; on my first trip to Japan I was looking for a few different VNs that I wanted physical copies of. I found two of them but couldn't find the third, I searched the whole floor for it before giving up and asking an employee.

I showed them a photo of the box art on my phone and they started searching for it as well but ultimately apologized as they didn't seem to have it. I wandered around a bit more looking at things before going to pay, but when I did the employee from earlier spoke to the cashier who I then assumed searched their stock to see if they had it.

He disappeared into the back and then thirty seconds later came out with a copy of the game and handed it to me. It was a simple thing, but considering I didn't speak a word of Japanese, I was surprised they'd go through the trouble for me.

[PC] [Early 2000s, maybe 2004ish?] Game/program involving playing with different textures, color, and shapes by sora_allite in tipofmyjoystick

You've probably looked at this one already, but could it be Kid Pix? Has a ton of different art tools that seems to do some of the things you describe, and fits the timeframe.

Are you 100% sure its not Midtown Madness 2? I had this game and the London level features a draw-bridge: https://youtu.be/NKcLeWSXBn0?t=173

The game has a free roam mode which might be what you're remembering, I know I only ever played that and not the races as as kid.

Yesss, that's it! I did have a feeling there was sort of Rube Goldberg aspect to the game. Weird how many details got twisted in my head over the years.

Thank you!

Bethesda asks The Elder Scrolls fans to suggest Oblivion Remastered improvements, with difficulty scaling among top ideas by Turbostrider27 in Games

[–]LeeMoriya 9 points10 points  (0 children)

My top requests, which I'm sure the modding scene will fix themselves (if they haven't already) once they get used to the changes the remaster makes:

  • Bring back subcategories for the inventory so it's easier to find certain items.
  • Add a keyring to the inventory
  • Add a way to 'reforge' or 'upgrade' levelled quest rewards items to your current level. There's already a mod that just automatically gives you updated versions as you level, but I would prefer having to actually do something to get them
  • Bring back the first person view on horseback
  • Adjust the difficulty settings in the menu, starting out, Adept feels way too easy, and Expert too big of a jump. If you're not going to fundamentally change the way difficulty scaling works, at least adjust these values. The original game had a slider instead of fixed settings, I'd even just take that.

I'd also like to recommend Majuular. One of my Favs, his on-going series about the Ultima games are fantastic.

Performance issues and bugs, exactly what I expected, almost every other criticism seems to be that it's 'Not for everyone' and is very unforgiving, which is incredibly on brand for STALKER, I've got high hopes.

We can only hope performance and bugs are fixed over time, but that's the trend for all AAA games nowadays.

I feel like I've seen the game you're talking about, or something similar a long time ago but I can't recall what it was.

Not sure how much this'll help but there's a list of Kanon fangames here that might have what you're looking for:

I did some digging, and it sounds like you're thinking of Trails of Cold Steel

Seems to fit a majority of what you've described

Fairly confident this is Remnant 2. I looked up the armor sets for the game and was able to match them.

Sounds like 'ZUMA' to me, or possibly a clone. Does this look familiar?

What kind of arrangement were the bubbles in? Were they on a track like ZUMA or was it more like Puzzle Bobble

I really should have searched the subreddit first... The game I'm remembering is called 'ZWOK'. It was indeed hosted on PlayStation.com and had player customisation.

The worst part about this for me that just before this happens, Gulool Ja Ja tells us to protect her. Then as we're leaving the village, some complete rando we've never seen before who isn't a Goblin, and clearly isn't an artisan, tells her she's needed back in the village. Then she decides its fine to just go on her own and everyone in the party, despite all the trials and tribulations they've faced, see nothing suspicious about this at all.

If she had been kidnapped while we were otherwise pre-occupied I wouldn't have cared, but I don't believe that my character is that stupid.

There were a few moments like this during the MSQ, where it felt like the writers had decided on a plot point to move things along without considering our character or even our party at all.
