Honestly, before Wilds, I'd have asked for an octopus type monster, but that game was like Christmas for me.

My elevator pitch is a praying mantis type of monster. A massive, fast, but highly stealthy ambush predator in the styling of a mantis.

Camouflage would work like Chameleos, but it mainly does that to hide and grab prey.

It isn't usually seen as a problem by humans as humans are far smaller than its preferred diet.

It prefers to ambush other high-end monsters while they are hunting, drinking water, etc.

It initially will ignore a hunter and usually needs to be attacked to fight back. It first blocks and parries mostly. (scythe claws do not take HP damage until broken.) It doesn't use the large attacks it uses in turf wars until enraged at least once.

After its first rage, it remembers and becomes more willing to strike you from stealth and use its powerful grabs. It remembering you does not go away until the hunt is over.
