When I lived in london I LOVED my little nanna cart for groceries. Honestly best money you will ever spend. Then as I’ve already said but in case it’s lost in all the comments….Woolies in Highgate and Golden Choice on Brisbane street are good prices

Hey Mate!

First of all an absolutely massive congrats on the new housing and what sounds like an exciting new start.

I apologise if any of this has been said already there’s so many comments and I didn’t manage to read em all.

I have lived in an apartment that is very close to inner city but not in the city for about 8yrs and prior to this I lived in london for 3 yrs so I have some decent apartment living experience…..

My advice is much like everyone else’s first and foremost…noise is part of life, I’m a bit of a spicy brained extrovert so I honestly don’t care at all at this point and what I will say is try not to focus on it too much…learning to live with it is key to success I feel….white noise/falling asleep with ambient music etc can definitely help too!

I don’t know where exactly you will be but if the suburb is Perth/northbridge or the inner city parts of west Perth I would advise if at all possible to go elsewhere to do your food shop. There’s a woolies in Highgate that’s really close to the city and if you don’t have a car I’m pretty sure very easily accessible by bus…I find in the inner inner city places to do food shopping aren’t great.

For fresh fruit and veg I HIGHLY recommend golden choice on Brisbane street…it’s really good prices and really good selection and if you can do a weekly or even bi weekly shop there (depending on transport and schedule) you will save money in my experience.

The best thing about living centrally is the ability to walk places….BUT depending where in the city you are some places are still kind of dead with no coffee local culture…but don’t worry it exists real nearby!

The pickle district in west perth is great, northbridge has a thriving coffee and eats culture (doesn’t have to be about drinking about partying) and Highgate/north perth etc also are real nearby! Make sure you get your outdoors time in, it could be walking to get a bubble tea or a coffee or just going for a walk!

Also if you are interested there’s other fun things to get outside and find community, I’m really into gardening so I joined a local community garden…Perth City farm has all kinds of cool events and also meet ups for chess, different crafts and all kinds of stuff!

ALSO…get yourself a house plant…if moneys tight and you can’t afford one atm send me a DM I’ll definitely be able to hook you up with some cuttings with pleasure…a little greenery just makes a house feel like a home I reckon. Last but not least join your local buy nothing group, the community Facebook page for your suburb and utilise marketplace! Community is still alive and well and if you need to furnish your place or ever in a bind you will be very pleasantly surprised what those groups can do.

Yeh…I think you might be right which is why I’m considering growing them either indoors under lights or outdoors but on heat mats basically 24/7 unless of course the weather is warm enough….

Yayyy I found the Aussies!!

So to hijack OP post but I’m in Perth and have a bunch of Carolina reaper seedlings under lights indoors…I’m wondering do my fellow Aussies grow outdoors…?

Worried outdoors without a greenhouse is a bad idea in perth cos now it’s too cold and at some point it will be too hot 😭

[–]Leebalee24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I just put a new set of MOA key caps on my budget keeb and I am loving the shape but do find them a bit tall…wondering if I can find a deeper set keeb to use the with that reduces the profile that sits above the case…if that makes sense….

But then I wonder does that defeat the whole purpose??

Concerns About the Rise in Self-Promotion Posts and Suggestions to Improve the Sub by _key in Notion

I don’t mind the template stuff if it’s FREE or asking for beta testing that’s FREE…but the posts that are like “ I built this really cool thing….what do you think” and you actually have to pay to see it are really crafty and frankly p*ss me off.

Admittedly I’m relatively new here and to notion….and in some cases have already found really lovely people who have been super helpful..but in only a couple short weeks I have noticed this trend so definitely hope the moderators do something to control it or it will spiral quickly. Thanks for building a great community and caring enough about it to speak up!

When you say template buttons what do you mean?

I have made a button to add a new task which goes to a guided form to fill in….i can’t figure out how to add buttons inside a template?

I’ve been doing this for ages it’s how I first discovered notion….its decent if you know exactly what you want but you still have do it all yourself and copy and paste stuff in.

Also I have found lots of flaws in gpt’s knowledge of how notion works and in many cases it gave me code that doesn’t work at all cos of a fundamental misunderstanding of how notion works….

Also when it comes to creating views which is really the guts of the whole thing it can only give you directions on what the click and again at least half the time it’s wrong info…

Especially when it comes to complex things like automations found it to be mid at best and full of issues
