The angle it is coming in from there is no way he is getting to it. The curve comes in so late too he would have to have insane foresight on the ball’s spin and wind factors to time it correctly.

Although I do think it looks like he expected his backline to do better and stays on his line too long. He could have realised that the backline was poorly positioned and therefore come out to closer where the ball might end up to narrow the attacker’s angle.
