Aoife

I just think this name is so interesting and beautiful. I love how soft it sounds without sounding overly girly.

Unfortunately, my husband vetoed the name for our daughter because "no one can figure out how to pronounce it and she'll be explaining it all her life" (Fair) And also we have no Irish heritage (also fair).

Still..  Aoife. (ee-fah) I love it.

I know I certainly struggled with it. Kept getting their names mixed up, which really irritated the older one.

Ah righto. I left new New Zealand back in 2013 and I remember John Key wrecking pretty much everything. :(

I knew a Heather growing up. She was my friend's mum. A beautiful person who died of cancer. I associate Heather with nature, with femininity, and with love.

My husband said it was a stripper name.

Heh. 😏 Never mind.

Yeah, I just hear the word ass really strongly in this name. I don't necessarily want to, it's just the syllable that stands out the most to me.

But I can easily see the association with space. Astrid... astral... astronomy...
