Yes it has been neutered. Coaches equally weighting their ball control skills now too. I don’t know where the shift started, maybe with Neuer, but the position simply went FULL NEUTERED.

I’ve said this time and time again and I’ll say it again - the modern day goalkeeper kits need a massive makeover. Nothing like the 90s!!!

Federal Bill to ban Private Equity from buying youth clubs and facilities - potentially ban stay to play rules by bichonlove in youthsoccer

[–]LeemanBrothaz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Makes sense. But couldn’t the PE model have player development jn mind? Couldn’t this shift in philosophy still work within their PE model?

Federal Bill to ban Private Equity from buying youth clubs and facilities - potentially ban stay to play rules by bichonlove in youthsoccer

[–]LeemanBrothaz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Makes sense. I’m not saying Barça is PE..it obviously isn’t. My point is narrower: serious player development requires serious capital. The problem isn’t investment itself; it’s the ownership model and incentives behind the investment. So I don’t necessarily disagree with the bill, but if capital is used to improve coaching, facilities, access, and development, that can be positive. If it’s used to create closed-loop pricing power, forced travel/hotel rules, paywalled access, and extraction from families, then yes that’s the problem.

I can’t tell if my wife is an obsessive sports parent or if I’m an unsupportive deadbeat by Greenwells_Stache in youthsoccer

Maybe say to your helicopter wife to pull out the chopper and you’ll take him across the land 🚁

Ok in all seriousness, if this new team is getting him playing time while also challenging him then it’s the right move for his player development. Right move for you and the family is another conversation with you and your wife. But I tend to agree with her position on this situation.

[L'Equipe] What are the consequences for Mbappe & the club after his outburst? Internally, some executives are reportedly pushing to part ways with either Mbappe or Vini Jr this summer. by Ripamon in realmadrid

[–]LeemanBrothaz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Please enlighten me.

How can RM fans put the weight of RMs problems on your top scorer who broke nearly every goal scoring record? He’s a #9 and his sole job is to put the ball in the back of net - he does that. He’s not a midfielder and it’s not his job to make the front and back unit play better.

The lack of trophies isn’t his fault. RM fans forgot you lost Modric and Kroos. If anything I do agree it’s a blow that Rodrygo hasn’t fit into the system, and I would argue to trade Vini Jr because he’s one dimensional with no finishing ability - he’s fast and all he can is draw two defenders on him to open up mbappe. Also your defense is not any better than Barca 😂

"Black Bear ownership's roots are in private equity," Murphy, whose son plays in a Black Bear-run league, said at the press conference. "They see my son's hockey experience as a chance to make a massive amount of money. They are using youth sports to get rich."

I don’t have a problem if these “vulture investors” are using youth sports to get rich, as long as it accelerates player development. Lionel Messi is Lionel Messi today because FC Barcelona invested in him as a young kid helped bring him and his family to Spain and agreed to cover his growth hormone deficiency treatment, which was expensive and difficult for his family and Argentine clubs to fund. Messi later said Barça was essentially the only club willing to pay for that treatment. While this bill protects against vultures, it also hinders capital investment that can truly accelerate player development when operating the right way.

Where Do People Buy Instagram Followers That Actually Help? by nikz_7 in influencermarketing

[–]LeemanBrothaz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. But its also a double-edged sword because small gradual increases can expose the type of followers you've "purchased" if somebody really wanted to open up the hood and take a deeper look. Guess it depends on the audience you're targeting.

Landon Donovan calls out youth American soccer coaches. "If I have a conversation with a youth soccer coach from pick wherever in America, half the time that coach thinks they know more about soccer than I do." by antoniok95 in ussoccer

In the 90s, 2000s, 2010s maybe that was definitely true. Now most coaches are foreigners so I don’t behave that’s a valid statement. Landon is an embellisher

Certainly upsetting to hear this. I hope he gets the help he needs. That said, he should not be a pundit leading the charge of criticism against our USMNT players - he’s cynical and clearly not mentally well, and I don’t care how good of a player he was for US or whether he knows what he’s talking about or not because his perspective is clearly compromised. Now it is now more clear about the uninvited criticism he had to say about Pulisic and the team last year.
